We're looking for a Data Lead to join our growing team. 


About this Role (Responsibilities)

We are seeking an experienced Data Lead to design and implement robust data architectures that support our digital and computational pathology solutions in clinical, research, and clinical trials industries. 

Your role will focus on data modeling, curation, governance, and backend engineering to ensure high-quality data management practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Architecture: design scalable, efficient data architectures and models for data integration, storage, and retrieval.
  • Backend Engineering: develop and maintain backend services for secure, scalable and efficient data processing.
  • Data Curation & Quality: establish standards for data validation, cleansing, and enrichment to ensure high-quality, reliable data.
  • Data Ontologies: create and manage ontologies and taxonomies to standardize data definitions and relationships.
  • Data Security: implement robust access controls and adhere to governance policies to ensure secure data utilization.
  • Data Governance: lead governance efforts, ensuring compliance with policies, standards, and regulations.
  • Collaboration: partner with IT, InfoSec, and cross-functional teams to align data architecture with business needs.
  • Documentation: maintain comprehensive documentation of data processes, architectures, and backend systems.
  • Compliance Training: complete mandatory compliance and role-specific training (e.g., QMS, ISMS, GxP, SDLC).

About You (Skills and Experience):

  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • Experience: proven expertise in data architecture and backend engineering, focusing on scalable, secure solutions.
  • Technical Skills: proficiency in AWS, Java Spring Boot, SQL/NoSQL, containerization, observability, data modeling, ETL processes, scripting languages (e.g., Python).
  • Governance Knowledge: deep understanding of data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and governance frameworks.
  • Soft Skills: strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective communication.
  • Preferred: experience in regulated industries, big data technologies (e.g., Kafka), and relevant certifications (e.g., CDMP).
