Job description

The Role

As the Fleet Controller, you are responsible for ensuring the effective operation of PUD related activities, predominately pick-ups, and ensure service level DIFOT targets are met in a safe and economical manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming bookings, ensuring each load is dispatched efficiently and safely.

  • Coordinate a smooth workflow and monitor each delivery from start to finish

  • Deliver exceptional service to our valued customers, keeping them informed every step of the way.

  • Build strong, lasting relationships with drivers and customers alike.

  • Work closely with the Operations Manager to address any issues promptly.

  • Maintain a safe environment in line with OH&S and NHVR regulations.

General Responsibilities

  • Comply with the TGE Group Code of Practice

  • Comply with the organisation’s policies including – safe working practices, occupational health and safety

  • Comply with Equal Employment Opportunities workplace requirements / policy

  • Participate in and actively support service quality and workplace improvement activities

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in transport is highly regarded

  • Familiarity with Melbourne’s metro area and transport functions.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a polite, friendly phone manner.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a proactive, can-do attitude.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of Dispatch Systems or other freight management software is a bonus.
