What You’ll Be Doing
As a member of the Business Management team, you’ll serve as an extension of the Corporate and Investment Banking revenue generating business team(s) by providing a strong level of support across several facets including but not limited to; new business initiatives, management reporting, governance and controls and internal audit/deficiency remediations.
The US Capital Markets Business Management group provides direct day-to-day support and coverage for CIBC’s US Capital Markets business. The group’s primary role is to assist in achieving the mandate to be a premier client-focused global bank. The US Capital Markets Business Management group serves as the primary liaison between the Capital Markets business and their supporting infrastructure groups as well as their internal and external vendors, brokers and suppliers. The US Capital Markets Business Management also strives to ensure a sound control environment and provides sound advice in support of business strategy.

Governance and Controls
Act as the first line of defense for business
Engage with Enterprise Risk to deliver on Risk Appetite Statement and Product Risk Statement work
Support the process to establish business operating procedures as related to regulatory findings
Coordinate and contribute to responses of various internal and external auditor / regulator requests, findings and reports; remain apprised of the ever changing and applicable regulations and laws; ensure regulatory requirements and CIBC policies are understood, implemented and monitored successfully.
Internal audits and controls testing support
Ensure an effective and documented internal control structure is in place, as evidenced through updates and maintenance of policies and procedures as well as adherence to, and successful testing of, internal controls and logical access reviews; maintain, support and enhance the information risk policies, standards, guidelines, processes and metrics

Relationship Management
Responsive and accessible to the business and manager throughout the day
Builds and maintains working relationships with stakeholders across the different businesses our team supports including up to Senior Management levels
Prioritizes, directs and implement assignments / projects / initiatives, and resolve issues / problems to ensure front office staff can focus on the specialized roles for which they have been employed
Partners with infrastructure groups on both internal and external facing initiatives on behalf of the business
Who You Are
Knowledge of Corporate and Investment Banking businesses
Ability to execute tasks under aggressive targets and effectively manage to changes in plan
Highly motivated, self-starter; able to work in a fast paced, results driven environment, with limited management oversight
Strong interpersonal, written, verbal and presentation skills
Ability to articulate complex issues concisely and communicate effective and comfortably with senior people; excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills
Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications (i.e., Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, Visio)
1-3 years of demonstrated experience in Capital Markets
Experience working in the financial services industry, or accounting, consulting and finance backgrounds preferred

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of USD$90,000 - $100,000 in the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component. CIBC offers a full range of benefits and programs to meet our employee’s needs; including Medical, Dental, Vision, Health Savings Account, Life Insurance, Disability, and Other Insurance Plans, Paid Time Off (including Sick Leave, Parental Leave, and Vacation), Holidays, and 401(k), in addition to other special perks reserved for our team members.
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. Additional total compensation and benefits details will be provided during the hiring process.
