Hours: Full-time
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Remote
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum DOE.

Join one of the biggest and most respected national eCommerce successes in our industry. cmostores.com is an online supplier of building materials, sold across multiple specialist eCommerce stores and a couple of showrooms Nationwide. We are seeking self-motivated, organised and experienced Merchandising Manager to join our team.

As a Merchandising Manager you will work closely with the key stakeholders to manage the total process of stock planning, management and control.  This will include management of budgets and processes to ensure that products appear on the right website, at the right time and in the right quantities, working closely with buyers to accurately forecast trends, plan stock levels and monitor performance.

You'll play a key role in maximising profits by setting prices, managing the performance of ranges and planning promotions and markdowns. Other responsibilities will include overseeing the delivery and distribution of stock. You will be very commercial in your thinking and approach to work, to take a wider view of the business. 

Requirements

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Creation and maintenance of stock flow monitoring tools and forecasting to maintain stock levels and identify areas of opportunity and risk. Plan product ranges and prepare sales and stock plans in conjunction with buyers
  • Work in partnership with the finance team to ensure that merchandise planning is aligned with delivery of the financial targets and milestones of the Group
  • Ensuring overall stock levels and buying are in line with the organisation sales plans
  • Working in partnership with the supply chain teams to maintain strong product availability, ensuring forecast accuracy and effective stock planning for seasonal changes and promotions as well as managing master and component SKUs.
  • Manage intake and commitment to accommodate the stock requirements of the business at any given time and the open to buy requirements of the category
  • Owning the key revenue drivers for stock, merchandising and cross-sell promotions, using data to drive insight into category performance and to make commercial recommendations to the business.
  • Monitor and analyse sales performance identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategic adjustments as needed.
  • Conduct analyses identify and address potential stock issues and action remedial changes before they escalate.
  • Identify and resolve reasons for poor product performance, implementing solutions with relevant stakeholders.
  • Oversee promotional and new product launches, ensuring proper product set up and campaign timelines. 
  • Managing the product roadmap to ensure a high-profile launch for new products, timely exit for discontinued lines and an engaging narrative to customers for the core ranges.
  • Supporting the creation of a promotional calendar for the assigned product categories incorporating centrally run seasonal campaigns, local promotions based on the demands of the local markets and tactical promotions.
  • Source and develop products from effective supplier base and negotiate product prices including delivery and payment terms
  • Coordinate with other teams to roadmap ideas and synchronise on trading plans.
  • Liaising with Content, Digital marketing (PPC, SEO, Affiliates, Display) and CRM to ensure adequate levels of traffic are being redirected to the assigned product categories.
  • Maintain a comprehensive library of appropriate data

Skills Required:

  • Previous experience working within an e-commerce retail environment
  • Experience with achieving online sales growth
  • Proven ability to lead teams effectively and communicate clearly across all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with a solid understanding of commercial trading to drive performance.
  • Ability to analyse e-commerce data, and use this to influence ideas and decision making
  • Hands-on and not afraid to step in and support other areas in the business
  • Able to multi-task and work to a deadline, as products will be launched on a certain date to fit with special offers etc.
  • Highly developed numeric skills and an innate ability to spot trends relationships and co-relationships within sales and stock figures
  • Must be able to travel to our three sites, based in Plymouth, Ipswich & Darlington
