Who We're Looking For:

EmpiRx Health is in unprecedented growth, and we're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Managing Counsel to join our team.  In this critical role, you will serve as a skilled advisor to Chief Legal Officer with the opportunity to participate in building and scaling the legal function and processes.

What You'll Do:
As Managing Counsel, your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities.  Here are a few:
  • Contract Management - Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to PBM operations.
  • Advise on keep up to date on all requirements of law and regulations affecting operation of a PBM.
  • Provide legal support to business and strategic initiatives of the company and respond to inquiries from various stakeholders.
  • Advise and assist on all corporate, employment, privacy and operational matters.
  • Regulatory Compliance – Assist and support compliance on federal and state laws and regulations governing pharmacy benefits management, including HIPAA, ACA, state laws, and other relevant healthcare laws.
  • Manage Legal Operations including matter management system and provide scalable processes to support the growth and scaling of business.
  • Serve as a collaborative partner and advisor to the Chief Legal and Human Resources Officer on all strategic and operational matters related to legal, compliance, HR and regulatory matters.
  • Manage internal team of professionals.
 
  • Other special responsibilities and projects as needed, including internal audits and compliance related matters as needed.
What You Need:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of legal experience in healthcare law, with preference and focus on health plan or pharmacy benefits management or related fields.
  •   Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work in a customer-focused environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with PBM operations and regulatory issues.
  • Experience with Privacy highly desired.
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance programs and policies.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state healthcare laws and regulations.
