Job description


The Nevada Supreme Court is the highest court in the state, responsible for interpreting and administering justice. Our People Operations Office plays a critical role in supporting the Court's operations by providing expert human resources, payroll, and communication services to our employees. 

The People Operations Office is seeking a driven and forward-thinking individual to be our Employee Development Specialist with a focus on employee and culture development throughout the employee lifecycle. Under the direction of the Chief People Officer, the Specialist will play a crucial role in providing professional development, training, and support to the Court.

After an initial training period, there will be an opportunity for a hybrid remote/in-office schedule. 

This position can be located in Carson City or Las Vegas. 


Examples of Duties

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  

  • Creation, facilitation, and administration of in-person and digital court-wide training programs and series; 
  • Performing professional level employee development functions for the Administrative Office of the Courts; 
  • Assisting to build an inclusive, positive culture and rapport amongst staff and the public;
  • Assisting in the administration of recruitment, selection, hiring, and onboarding processes; 
  • Acting as a resource and liaison for both internal and external customers; 
  • Cross training with other People Operations units. 

Qualifications

  • Progressively responsible professional employee development and/or employee training experience; 
  • Professional experience facilitating trainings to adult learners; 
  • Working knowledge of best practices within adult development and training programs; 
  • Ability to adjust and adapt to change; and 
  • Knowledge of a variety of LMS, human resources, and payroll systems. 
  • Working knowledge of state laws, regulations, rules, and policies for state government a plus. 

Effectively works remotely and collaborates with employees from a remote location, as needed. Must have expertise in virtual meeting platforms, such as Teams. Must have the ability to work remotely via an internet network connection provided by the employee. This connection speed must be sufficient to perform all duties. A minimum of 50-100 mb download speeds are required. Higher connection speed may be required if sharing this connection with other members in an employee’s household.
