The Opportunity

What You’ll Contribute
- Reporting to the Vice President of Government Relations, the Senior Director will serve as FICO’s lead policy expert with Congress, the White House, key agencies across government, as well as influential third-party stakeholders in advancement of FICO’s public policy objectives. The role will have an added emphasis on housing policy.
- This position has high internal and external visibility and will be based in the Washington D.C. area with a remote/home office location.
- Serve as advocacy lead on key financial services issues with an emphasis on housing policy.
- Monitor and analyze impacts of proposed legislation and regulation on FICO and its customers. Develop talking points, summaries, testimony, and official comments, when applicable.
- Manage outside consultants including the development of successful advocacy strategies, the setting and execution of consultant deliverables as well as weekly meetings.
- Identify opportunities and provide support for the participation of senior executives and company subject matter experts in Washington stakeholder meetings and/or events.
- Collaborate, support, and elevate internal business initiatives that are relevant to and/or include the participation of Washington stakeholders.
- Work with the Vice President of Government Relations in developing and maintaining timely and effective policy updates, communications, and relationships with internal business partners.
- Assist the Vice President with preparation of annual federal government affairs strategy and budget.
What We’re Seeking
- 10+ years of government relations experience in a leading advocacy role working on financial services issues which includes a strong background in housing policy.
- Deep understanding of legislative and regulatory processes.
- Additional experience working on key financial services policy issues which include: credit reporting and credit scoring, financial inclusion (including use of alternative data to expand credit access), financial education/financial literacy, fair lending, student lending, matters related to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, use of artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques, and privacy.
- Extensive network on and off Capitol Hill as well as experience working with housing-related trade associations and federal agencies.
- Member of a corporate or trade association government relations team preferred.
- Registered lobbyist at the federal level preferred.
- Experience working successfully with and managing outside consultants.
- Excellent oral, written and communication skills with executive level presence.
- A team player who thrives in a high-energy, multi-tasking and collaborative environment.
- Exhibit excellent analytical and relationship-building skills, be diligent and proactive in problem-solving, show excellent judgment, and exhibit a high-level of integrity and trust.
- Employ effective strategic and tactical thinking, interact optimally with all levels of the organization from senior executives to staff level, and be able to work collaboratively and independently in a small team environment.

- The targeted base pay range for this role is: $161,000 to $253,000 with this range reflecting differences in candidate knowledge, skills and experience.
