Position Summary: Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and driven individual to join our team in the role of Payroll Specialist I. Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing, preparing, and producing accurate and timely payrolls for multiple clients, in multiple locations (states), based on state and federal regulations and company policies
  • Checking customers employees’ timesheets for accuracy
  • Make adjustments in pay for raises, bonuses, commission, and severance
  • Review and validate payroll reports for accuracy, investigating and resolving any discrepancies
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all client files, payroll information, and employee PII
  • Analyze payroll results and other Human Resources reports to answer complex questions and recommend courses of action while exercising independent judgment and discretion
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from client and their employees
  • Process employee garnishments
  • Coordinate payroll general ledger processing with accounting
  • Prepare time and labor files
  • Input employee changes, maintain deductions, banking information, and employee maintenance items
  • Provide service support to employees, other departments, and management

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)

  • At least 5 years’ proven experience processing end-to-end payroll preferably in a medium to large organization
  • Prior experience working in a multi-client environment is required
  • Expert knowledge of Workday
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, regulations, and best practices
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management abilities
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Educated on compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and requirements
  • Certified Payroll Professional certification a plus
  • Excellent math and numerical skills
  • Proficient in Excel including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
