Senior Java Developer - Spring / Java EE / RDBMS - UN Agency

For a UN Agency based in Geneva, NTT DATA is currently looking for a Senior Java Developer to join the team on remote. As a full-stack senior Java EE JSP web developer, the incumbent is responsible for designing, implementing, testing, deploying, and supporting primarily a web application from UN´s portfolio, alongside other applications as needed.

You will be responsible for:

• Actively contribute to the technical design, implementation, maintenance, deployment and support of java web applications.
• Write unit and functional tests to ensure high-quality work.
• Gather, interpret, and analyze business requirements as needed.
• Engage with various technical and business stakeholders to ensure that the systems are correctly implemented and can be easily maintained and supported in the future.
• Efficiently collaborate with other team members and other stakeholders, participate in code review, mentoring and knowledge transfer.
• Stay updated with the latest software development best practices and contribute to the team's efforts to improve its software development practices.
• Ensure alignment with UN´s technical standards and procedures.
• Deliver comprehensive technical and user documentation.
• Perform other related duties as required.

For this role you will need to have experience in:

• University degree in information technology, computer science or a related field.
• Extensive hands-on experience in the development and deployment of IT systems and web applications based on Java technologies, with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
• Strong computer science skills.
• Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English.
• High attention to detail.
• Proven record of excellent teamwork.
• Hands-on extensive experience in following technical areas:
• Java EE, Struts, JSP, Java Spring, JPA, Hibernate, Maven
• HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• RDBMS, ideally PostgreSQL

Desirable:

• Experience with QA activities.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, preferably SCRUM.
• Apache Tiles
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo
