Release Engineer SR         

Overview:  

Join our esteemed technology department as a Senior Staff Release Engineer at Sagent, a leading FinTech company offering SaaS solutions to mortgage servicers.  This role requires an individual with a strong educational background and extensive experience in release engineering. As a Senior Staff member, you will leverage your theoretical knowledge and functional expertise to lead the release process, ensuring the efficient deployment of software updates and enhancements.

Your day-to-day at Sagent:

Release Management Leadership:
  • Lead the development and implementation of release strategies, plans, and schedules, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, QA, and operations, to coordinate and execute release activities effectively.
Configuration Management:
  • Oversee the management of configuration baselines and version control systems, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of software artifacts throughout the release lifecycle.
  • Implement and maintain automated release pipelines and tools to streamline the deployment process and improve efficiency.
Deployment Oversight:
  • Direct the deployment of software updates and enhancements to production environments, monitoring deployment activities and addressing issues as they arise.
  • Establish and enforce release policies and procedures to ensure consistency and reliability in the deployment process.
Release Documentation and Improvement:
  • Maintain comprehensive release documentation, including release notes, deployment instructions, and rollback procedures, to facilitate communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve release management processes and tools based on industry best practices and feedback from stakeholders.

We would love to hear from you if you have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or relevant discipline, with 4 - 6 years of experience in a related field. Experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong theoretical knowledge and functional expertise in release engineering principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in configuring, installing, maintaining, and upgrading computer systems hardware and software.
  • Experience administering version control systems and implementing release automation tools.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical abilities, with the capacity to address complex technical challenges.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in release management processes.

Additional Skills/Technical Knowledge Preferred: 

  • Understanding and working knowledge of Repos, branching, PRs and pipelines in Azure DevOps 
  • Scripting in any of JavaScript/Python/Java languages
  • Ability to work with REST APIs and Databases
