Job Opportunity: Veterinarian I – Pork Live Production

Location: Remote with some travel required
Base Location: Springdale, AR, US
Salary Range: USD $100,000 – $130,000/year

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinarian I – Pork Live Production to oversee and improve health protocols for wean-to-market operations across the Midwest. This role combines strategic health management with hands-on farm assessments and training, contributing directly to the success of our livestock operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with producers and farm personnel to address immediate and long-term health challenges in wean-to-market operations.
  • Develop and implement health management strategies in coordination with the Technical Services department.
  • Conduct farm assessments and evaluate processes to ensure adherence to biosecurity and health-related standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Train farm teams on established health protocols and oversee their proper implementation.
  • Provide technical insights and recommendations for improving production and animal health management.

Non-Negotiable Requirements:

  • Education: Doctorate degree in Veterinary Medicine with eligibility to practice in the U.S.
  • Experience: At least three years of relevant experience (including veterinary college).
  • Licensure: Active or willingness to obtain licensure in Indiana, Illinois, and potentially other Midwest states.
  • Skills: In-depth knowledge of diseases and disorders affecting swine health.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Expertise in swine or livestock health management.
  • Familiarity with biosecurity practices, production technologies, and disease outbreak management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to work across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strategic problem-solving capabilities and familiarity with Midwest agricultural practices.

Travel Requirement:
10 or more domestic trips annually to visit farms and assess operations.
