The In-Plan annuity team is hiring a Business Development Leader to help cultivate prospective clients and help manage client relationships in the fast growing In-Plan Annuity Market. The Business Development Leader is responsible for identifying prospective clients by researching potential asset manager and defined contribution recordkeepers, supporting relationship development and helping to win client engagements
You are
- Skilled at developing interpersonal relationships internally and with prospective clients

- A discerning listener who can grasp clients’ and prospects’ needs and interests
- Comfortable working with ambiguity
- Analytical with an ability to identify market trends and strategies to respond
- Excited to build a start up business with the backing of a 160 year old life insurance company
You will
- Build profiles of prospective clients and client decision makers.
- Cultivate industry contacts through networking
- Develop a deep knowledge of In-Plan Annuities, Defined Contribution market segments, recordkeepers and asset managers
- Promote Guardian as a thought leader and innovator
- Perform competitive/industry research using public and non-public sources
- Track prospect and client engagements, next steps, etc.
You have
- Experience in institutional sales and/or institutional relationship management, preferably in the defined contribution markets (401(k), 403(b), 457(b))
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Powerpoint, Excel and Word
- 5+ years of experience in business development
- Experience managing multiple relationships across multiple timelines
- Flexibility to pivot attention as needed on a small and dynamic team
Salary Range
$116,350.00 - $191,155.00
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
