As a Logistics Support Specialist, you will work directly with our enterprise logistics team to sustain strategic and operational success. This person will be responsible for leveraging their experiences and skills in transportation management to develop best in class processes, ensuring quality delivery and compliance to all regulatory requirements.  Additionally, manage our carrier and 3PL partners and hold them accountable to goals, providing support to our internal stakeholders across business units.

What You’ll Do…

  • Coordinate with shippers to plan pickup and delivery schedules.
  • Generate and distribute shipping documents to third-party suppliers.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, distribution, and logistics providers to ensure pickup and delivery expectations meet and exceed established goals.
  • Support the success and sustainability of the enterprise logistics strategy including network analytics and developing sustainable solutions to improve efficiencies, effectiveness, and quality.
  • Develop strong partnerships/relationships with logistics providers and lead action planning to improve performance.
  • Document operating procedures and hold stakeholders accountable for adherence.
  • Ensure compliance to import and export regulatory requirements.
  • Support domestic TMS managed provider relationship and help drive performance improvements.
  • Working with carriers/drivers to monitor loading, unloading, and time-management of freight transit.
  • Oversee and manage claims processes and recovery initiatives.
  • Identifying and solving existing and potential problems; involving the supervisor and contacting account manager to resolve problems as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
  • Comply with all applicable OSHA, EPA, local regulatory laws, and company safety policies.

What You Need…

  • 3-5 years transportation experience required.
  • Deep knowledge of transportation industry including LTL and dedicated modes.
  • Experience leading and communicating with internal/external stakeholders and how to manage change and hold all parties accountable to SOP’s.
  • Some understanding of freight forwarder operations, duties/tariffs, network optimization, freight handling, customs, documentation, import/export control, and logistics vendor management is helpful.
  • Exposure to manufacturing and distribution operations and supply chain practices.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word skills required.
  • TMS, WMS, YMS, and business intelligent tools experience a plus.
  • Up to 25% travel.
  • Maintain a satisfactory attendance record.
  • Comply with company rules, policies, and decisions.
