The Who, What, Where, When & Why
We are looking for a technology forward Finance leader to help us deliver on our mission of improving global patient care and patient safety through VR simulation and training.
Are you a Finance Leader with a background in B2B SaaS with experience in both the UK and US? Are you looking for a new challenge with a high growth UK/US company on a mission to train and educate healthcare practitioners in order to improve global patient care and safety?
We are a fast growing VC-backed US/UK business. Our Finance leader will work closely in partnership with our Finance provider, as well as our Leadership team, ensuring that we have a highly effective finance function that fully supports and facilitates a data-driven approach across the business. You'll bring financial acumen, as well as a genuine passion for utilising cutting edge technology into your practice. You’ll be great at telling stories through, and visualising, data and creating actionable insights to ensure that we continue to innovate and excel.
This role requires someone who is technology-forward, comfortable with a fully-remote approach to work (though we do get together in-person from time to time) and loves operating with efficiency. You will have demonstrable experience in using technology to optimise efficiency, performance and insight within your current role and are genuinely excited to help us in our mission to improve global patient care and safety.
Who You Are:
You are personable, emotionally intelligent and a strong relationship builder
You know your numbers inside and out - wherever you’ve worked, you’re the one the C-Suite trust
You have proven transatlantic B2B SaaS experience
You fully embrace emerging technologies, you’ve already explored using AI in your current role and are always on the lookout for how this could be taken further
You have proven experience as a Finance leader (FD/CFO) or in a similar senior financial role in a fast-paced, dynamic high growth B2B/enterprise SaaS environment
You get a get a kick out of visualising complex data in a simple way for time-strapped audiences - you’re no stranger to creating great looking charts in Google Slides and you probably know how to use Tableau, QLik Sense, Power BI etc to transform complex financial data into clear, actionable insights
You geek out creating scalable, maintainable financial models
You are able to work and partner effectively with a 3rd party provider to deliver a highly effective finance function for the business. We are lean in our thinking and approach - our finance team is outsourced and we aim to keep it that way for the foreseeable future. If that sounds awful we may not be for you!
You are commercially savvy and deeply pragmatic
You have relevant Financial qualifications e.g. (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
You have a strong understanding of financial regulations, corporate financial law, and risk management practices.
You have excellent knowledge of data analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
You live in the UK and have the right to work in the UK
You are highly competent at using a wide range of financial and online collaboration tools (you’re no stranger to Xero, Slack, Sheets, Excel, Drive - you may have used Jira, Confluence or Zapier). An understanding of CRM data wouldn’t go amiss
Extra points for:
CPA, CMA, or other relevant financial certification.
Experience in the technology, education or healthcare sectors.
What you will be doing:
Steering our financial strategy and nurture our growth trajectory
Leading our financial planning, risk management, and accounting practices, ensuring they align with our strategic goals.
Developing and implementing financial strategies that support our growth, innovation, and overall financial health.
As part of the exec, guiding the financial decision-making, providing insights and analysis to drive the company forward.
Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintaining impeccable financial records in the UK and the US
Bringing us on the journey to our next stage of financial maturity
Driving continuous improvement in financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
There’s likely loads more - if you’re the right person you probably know better than we do, what you should be doing!
