Job Description

About this opportunity

We’re on an exciting journey and there couldn’t be a better time to join us. We’re putting in place a fresh operating model for non-financial risk management across the Group, empowering our people to take end-to-end accountability for managing the risks that they face!

This means we’re changing how we do risk management, creating a team of second line risk specialists, to provide support aligned to our first line risk owners and control owners to deliver great customer outcomes!

We’re looking for an Internal and External Supplier Risk manager. You'll support the team in developing a centre of excellence to drive robust supplier risk management. You’ll provide thought leadership, insight and oversight on how the Group undertakes and evidences regulatory compliance  with (e.g. to SYSC 8, OCIR and SS2/21 rules). You’ll engage in design and implementation of policies, risk appetite, and control objectives to enable the delivery of customer, regulatory and business strategic outcomes.

What you'll be doing

  • Support the Head of Function in defining clear and realistic Supplier Risks, risk appetite statements, policies,  control objectives and metrics aligned to the Group’s risk management framework.

  • As one of the Group’s Operational Risk specialists, build relationships with key internal partners,  peer organisations, regulators, and regulatory partners.

  • Implement, embed and oversight the service Provision and External supplier policies and appetite, including tolerances and thresholds through the Bank..

  • Oversight the design and operation of systems to empower Business Units to consistently identify risks and evaluate the robustness of controls.

  • Oversight the Group’s Internal and External Supplier management capability to meet regulatory expectations (incl. Resilience, Outsourcing and OCiR)

  • Provide SME input into risk reporting collateral up to Board level, ensuring the risk commentary is relevant, accurate,  and effective  in conveying the key messages, with a clear purpose.

  • Contribute to the coordination of core Operational Risk processes, including scenario and loss analysis, and coordinate input into key regulatory submissions, consultation responses, and external disclosures (e.g. ICAAP, risk section in the annual report, pillar III, etc).

Why Lloyds Banking Group?

If you think all banks are the same, you’d be wrong. We’re an innovative, fast-changing business that’s shaping finance as a force for good. A bank that’s empowering its people to innovate, explore possibilities and grow with purpose.

What you’ll need

  • Supplier: Understanding of best in class approaches to internal and external supplier risk management.

  • Operational Risk: An extensive understanding of Operational Risk, with strong understanding of relevant regulation and regulatory expectation, and the ability to translate regulation into policy, and in a way that resonates with business partners.

  • Policy: Experience of contributing to group-level policy and setting risk-appetite, with expertise in continuous monitoring and reporting on group exposure

  • Analysis: Experience of performing risk oversight, incident root cause analysis and event read across, and using the outcome to strengthen LBG’s operational capability

  • Strategy: Ability to deliver operational risk management strategy for complex Financial Services organisations and transform policies and frameworks to deliver this vision.

  • Framework: Good depth of understanding of the latest internal and external supplier Risk frameworks and technology being used across financial and non-financial services to support development of the supplier risk centre of excellence.

  • Regulation: Demonstrate good knowledge of relevant laws, regulation, industry standards and established industry leading practices in the Supplier Risk field and the ability to apply these across multiple jurisdictions

And any experience of these would be really useful
