Genesys empowers organizations of all sizes to improve loyalty and business outcomes by creating the best experiences for their customers and employees. Through Genesys Cloud, the AI-powered Experience Orchestration platform, organizations can accelerate growth by delivering empathetic, personalized experiences at scale to drive customer loyalty, workforce engagement, efficiency and operational improvements.

We employ more than 6,000 people across the globe who embrace empathy and cultivate collaboration to succeed. And, while we offer great benefits and perks like larger tech companies, our employees have the independence to make a larger impact on the company and take ownership of their work. Join the team and create the future of customer experience together.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Identity and Access Management (IAM) to establish, lead, and enhance our IAM capabilities from the ground up. This individual will play a critical role in implementing and managing our IAM strategy, with a focus on leveraging Okta to deliver robust, secure, and scalable access solutions. The Director of IAM will work closely with cross-functional teams to establish secure access frameworks that align with business needs, regulatory requirements, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage the overall IAM program, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory standards.
  • Drive the standardization and automation of IAM processes for employee lifecycle events, ensuring a seamless, secure, and efficient onboarding and off-boarding experience.
  • Oversee all aspects of Okta integration, including the setup, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of our Okta environment, ensuring secure and efficient identity and access processes.
  • Establish and scale IAM frameworks, policies, and processes, building out capabilities to meet current and future business needs.
  • Build and lead a high-performing IAM team, providing strategic direction, mentorship, and support to ensure effective and secure access control practices.
  • Develop and enforce access policies, roles, and permissions for users, ensuring appropriate access levels and adherence to the principle of least privilege.
  • Partner with Security, Architecture, and Compliance teams to align IAM with broader organizational goals, identifying and mitigating access-related risks.
  • Ensure IAM practices adhere to relevant compliance standards (e.g., SOX) and manage audit processes related to access management and security controls.
  • Continuously improve IAM processes and solutions to enhance security, scalability, and efficiency, leveraging automation and other technologies where possible.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Okta administration, implementation, and integration, including an understanding of Okta Identity Engine (OIE).
  • 6+ years of experience in IAM roles, with at least 4+ years in a leadership capacity, building and managing IAM programs from inception.
  • In-depth understanding of identity management principles, SSO, MFA, user provisioning, and access controls.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards related to IAM, such as SOX, and experience managing IAM audits.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify gaps and opportunities within IAM systems and the ability to develop solutions that enhance security and operational efficiency.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with additional IAM technologies and tools, particularly in cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Familiarity with modern IAM trends, including context-based and role-based access control.
  • Certification in IAM-related areas (e.g., CISSP, CISM, Okta certifications) is a plus.
