Job description

Lime is the world's largest shared electric vehicle company. We’re on a mission to build a future where transportation is shared, affordable and carbon-free. Our electric bikes and scooters have powered 400+ million rides in 250+ cities on 5 continents, replacing an estimated 100+ million car trips. Named a Time 100 Most Influential Company and Fast Company Brand That Matters, we achieved a fully profitable year in 2022, becoming the first in our industry to reach this milestone.

We are looking for a strong software engineer for the Rider team to build the best user experience for our customers.

The Rider team is the heart of Lime’s business. We are responsible for improving Lime’s core riding experience including signup, onboarding, trip flow, pricing, subscriptions, and much more. Our goal is to build the perfect experience for our customers so that they become power users.

You’ll be working on big bets, scaling up successful products, learning new technologies and contributing to key strategic initiatives. The best part? You’ll be able to showcase all that you built to your friends and family.

What you'll do:
  • Identify, define, and solve strategically essential consumer-facing rider problems, including architecting and building highly scalable foundational product platforms, leading new product initiatives, and revamping core rider experiences.
  • Scrutinize and reason clearly about the technology and architecture choices we make. In many cases, you will be the decider of these decisions.
  • Lead the cross-functional collaboration with PMs, Engineers, Design, Data Scientists, Research, and Operations teams.
  • Mentor and support other engineers on the team. Identify and develop future leaders.
  • Advise Lime’s leadership team on key technology adoption and process improvements.

  • About you:
  • 2+ years of industry professional software development experience, and a track record of building impactful products or systems.
  • Customer obsessed. You put customers first.
  • Data driven. You have a strong data insight and rely on data to make decisions.
  • Owner’s mindset. You're a self-starter and get things across the finish line.
  • Strong collaborator. You understand cross-functional strategies and involve key stakeholders in decision making.
  • Passionate. You’re passionate about Lime's mission and micromobility; you want to see cities transform to becoming people-centric and less polluted.
  • Outcomes oriented. You focus on impact and have a track record for driving meaningful business results.
  • Strong influencer. You motivate and empower your team to go above and beyond and have driven bar-raising activities in the past
  • 1+ years of experience coding in Ruby on Rails preferred
  • The anticipated salary range for this position is CA$ 108,000  to CA $132,000. Annual performance bonus, equity and benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, depending on the position offered. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the candidate’s location of residence, the successful candidate's skills, experience and other qualifications. In addition to base salary, some roles may be eligible for a variable performance-bonus based on a combination of company performance, employee performance, and management discretion.
