The Role

Position: Technical Solutions Manager (Business Solutions Architect) (Non-Union)

Division: Sales & Solutioning

Manager:  Greg Brentnell

Location: Multiple Locations (Corporate)

The Technical Solutions Manager (Business Solutions Architect) acts as a bridge between delivery and sales by assisting the sales organization to sell what we have the capability to deliver, and ensuring the quality of the delivered solution once the business has been sold. 

The successful candidate will be a results-oriented IT professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with proven interpersonal and communication skills.  They must have a demonstrated ability to deliver to customer needs, often under tight timelines, to meet or exceed customer expectations; and a deep knowledge and proven skills in solution architecture, including cloud infrastructure.

The position is also responsible to contribute to the development and invention of new solutions that deliver business value to ISM’s customers, by interfacing with all affected stakeholders both internal and external to ISM in a matrix environment. This role is subject to regular business working conditions and occasional travel is a requirement of the role. This role is also expected to evolve as ISM’s business evolves.

NOTE: the preferred work location for this position is Saskatchewan; however, the location will be dependent on the location of the successful candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality assurance services on projects to ensure that the quality of delivered solutions reflects what was proposed.

  • Put together enterprise solutions within large complex organizations.

  • Provide thought leadership and project advisory services to customers on a billable basis.

  • Conduct technical interviews in conjunction with QA.

  • Assist in the management of vendor alliances to position ISM as a leading service provider.

  • Architect large solutions to meet requirements of opportunity pursuits and projects.

  • Create Architectural Artifacts for small, medium and large-scale solutions.

  • Provide training / coaching to other ISM architects to promote professional growth and ensure consistent delivery of quality solutions.

  • Provide opportunity pursuit services starting at awareness generation stage through to proposal and closing of the sale.

  • Work closely with sales account teams to assist in the development of account plans and qualification of opportunities.

  • Responsible for describing the solution, defining the approach and estimating in customer proposals.

  • Assist in the planning and execution of events, including: seminars, speaking engagements, and authoring engagements to stimulate demand creation.

  • Ensure that intellectual assets created during the delivery process are collected, evolved and captured in the knowledge base in a manner that is reusable and relevant.

  • Assist in the creation, collection and stewardship of intellectual assets to support sales.


Who You Are

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Computing Systems or Business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Broad knowledge of various IT delivery methodologies (ITIL, TOGAF, RUP, Zachman, etc.)

  • Experience creating Enterprise Scale IT Architectural Solutions and Designs

  • Experience creating IT Infrastructure Detail Design Documents and Architectural Diagrams

  • Experience with Solution Definition Manger (SDM) tool is considered an asset

  • Experience with security, automation, analytics, and AI is considered an asset

  • Experience dealing with a sales-driven team

  • Demonstrated experience dealing with senior level executives

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with proven ability to drive teams to success

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and drive change

  • Strong communication skills: verbal, written and interpersonal

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate complex ideas

Key Skills & Abilities:

  • Proven experience managing and/or delivering similar services with increasing degree of responsibility and proven track record with the ability to execute according to plan

  • Experience should include high impact service delivery in a rapid paced, time sensitive, high-quality environment

  • Experience developing business relationships as well as managing and maintaining customer relationships
