General Description:

The Global Head Strategic & Operational Pricing will lead the development and execution of global pricing strategies, ensuring alignment with the company's commercial and market access goals. This role is responsible for setting pricing standards, optimizing pricing frameworks, and establishing a cohesive approach to pricing strategy and operations across multiple regions with different payer archetypes.

The position will be responsible for International Reference Pricing (IRP), margin/profitability, pricing systems, pricing analytics, pricing governance, and leading a cross functional team responsible for overall strategy and direction, specific customer pricing contracts, and daily execution of pricing and price changes.  The position will work effectively across all regions in which BeiGene operates.

Essential Functions of the job:

  • Strategic Pricing Leadership:
  • Develop and lead a cohesive global pricing strategy that supports commercial, market access, and organizational objectives, maximizing revenue and market share across all Regions.
  • Define pricing models that optimize revenue streams across various product lines, including new launches and mature products.
  • Establish frameworks for pricing excellence, including methodologies, KPIs, and best practices, to improve market positioning and competitive advantage.
  • Develop early pricing strategies and input for Forecasting and Pipeline Prioritization purpose.
  • Operational Pricing Execution:
  • Oversee the end-to-end pricing process from development through to in-market implementation, ensuring effective and efficient execution in alignment with global strategies.
  • Work closely Regional Access Leads to support the deployment of pricing strategies, adapting to local market dynamics and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of pricing initiatives, refining strategies based on performance metrics and feedback.
  • Adjust the product pricing strategy over a brand’s lifetime considering changes in the product profile and market environment to effectively compete and to minimize the risk of payer / government agency induced price reductions.
  • Market Intelligence & Data Analysis:
  • Drive the integration of market intelligence, competitor pricing trends, and health economic data to inform and optimize pricing strategies.
  • Lead complex analysis to understand price elasticity, payer willingness to pay, and optimal price points for new and existing products.
  • Lead and oversee all global pricing research in collaboration with key cross functional stakeholders and regional market access leads.
  • Collaborate with GVAP Leads, Commercial, and R&D teams to ensure pricing decisions are well-informed and data-driven.
  • Study and develop familiarity with pharmaceutical economics and regulations which impact pricing in all markets in which BeiGene currently, or in the future, will operate. Research various pricing theories, developments, and trends in the marketplace that could enhance or positively impact product access. Lead the organization to tailor the global pricing for all its in-market and near-market assets.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner closely with Market Access, Finance, Commercial Operations, and Legal to ensure alignment and compliance with pricing strategies and operational processes.
  • Provide pricing related input and feedback to assist groups like Corporate Strategy and Valuation, Commercial Operations & Business Analytics, and Finance in forecasting
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including payers, healthcare providers, and regulatory bodies, to support value-based pricing and reimbursement approaches.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing pricing team, fostering a collaborative culture and driving professional growth.
  • Governance & Compliance:
  • Establish and run governance frameworks to manage pricing decisions, ensuring adherence to corporate policies, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead global pricing reviews, develop pricing governance processes, and maintain transparent communication with senior leadership.
  • Monitor compliance with internal controls, global pricing policies, and external regulatory requirements.
  • Build new, first-time capability for global pricing within BeiGene, align stakeholders, exhibit strong cross functional collaboration, demonstrate ability to evolve and expand at the appropriate time as the number of BeiGene commercial products grow.
  • Leadership role in coordinating and defining processes regarding global price governance and management of all markets in which BeiGene operates.  Support above brand pricing initiatives (e.g., pricing policy statements).
  • Lead KPI and price metrics development that standardize and optimize price management across BeiGene’s portfolio.
  • Accountable to develop and maintain SOPs, SOX, system integrity, governance, and compliance with all local government regulations for pricing.
  • Expand knowledge and experience by regular engagement with key stakeholders to understand business processes, policies, strategies, and evolving business trends.
  • Ensures compliance with all Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  Leading a small team of individual contributors, and a high level of collaboration with variety of internal stakeholders required.

Education Required: Undergraduate bachelor’s degree required, preferred in Business Administration, specialization: Pricing, Strategic Planning, Marketing or similar.  Additionally, MBA / PhD preferred
