JOB TITLE: Lead Software Engineer.
SALARY: £90,400pa to £106,400pa plus the benefits listed below.
LOCATION: Manchester.
HOURS: Full-time.
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week on site and 3 days from home. Additionally, you can work from home all 5 days a week between the months of July and September each year.

If then we're seeking an ambitious and proven Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in Manchester. This role offers the chance to influence the way we craft, build, test, and deploy using brand new technology. Join our Lab and Lloyds engineering team to implement innovative solutions and advance product development.
Your key accountabilities will include:
Thought Leadership: Help embed and enhance our Software Engineering practices across the Lab whilst running key ceremonies like the Lab Engineering Chapter.
Architectural Design and Development: Lead the design and development of robust software solutions using modern web technologies, particularly JavaScript (React.js / TypeScript).
Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to software engineers, encouraging a culture of improvement and innovation.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality and innovative products, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Code Quality and Standard Methodologies: Develop modular, testable code and ensure adherence to standard methodologies in source code management using Git.
Integration and Deployment: Utilise integration tools and cloud infrastructure to implement seamless solutions, ensuring smooth deployment processes.
Agile Methodologies: Champion agile development practices, including continuous integration and test automation (TDD, BDD, Playwright).
About you
We are looking for an experienced individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and is eager to learn new skills and technologies. The ideal candidate will possess:
Technical Expertise: Extensive experience with modern web technologies, especially TypeScript / JavaScript (ideally React.js and Node.js), and Java with Spring Boot. Knowledge of AI and Algorithms would be needed.
Proficient Coding Skills: Demonstrated capability to write modular, testable code and implement standard methodologies.
Source Code Management: Deep understanding of Git and managing change within a source code management system.
Full Stack Proficiency: Comprehensive knowledge of the entire application stack.
Integration Tools and Cloud Infrastructure: Significant experience with integration tools and cloud infrastructure (ideally GCP).
Agile Development: Strong knowledge of agile development practices, continuous integration, and test automation (TDD, BDD, Playwright).
