This role sits within the Analytics team within Energy Operations, who focuses on supporting our Operational teams to recover Settlement and Billing costs whilst using data to drive performance.
The purpose of this space within Energy Ops is to utilise data to understand our performance, highlight areas to focus on, as well as building processes to drive fixes. You will support in maintaining a backlog of work, and prioritising areas dependent on the demands of stakeholders.
This role in a nutshell:
You will work with a team of motivated analysts whose goal is to interrogate our data and generate insight, driving the department’s tactical decisions and striving to improve the customer journey. You will be dedicated to producing best in class data, confidently relaying this to stakeholders and supporting our Operational teams.
Your key outcomes will be:
Have a fundamental understanding of the principles of Agile and lean developmentWorking with multiple data sources including cloud data-lakes as well as function specific databases, combining analytical and business knowledge to deliver actionable insightDevelop and implement user friendly reports which support performance analysis & decision making Commercial modelling, creating cost/benefit analysis of proposed actions and outcomes based on a consistent value modelDesign and deliver robust automated processes which ingest third party data for commercial or operational useDevising processes and systems which allow for better self serve data access, leading to higher data management maturity and more opportunities for automation and innovationPromote ethical best practices in the way all data is used and processed, always ensuring compliance and security is placed first.Communicate conclusions drawn from, and implications of results from statistical and performance analyses to a wide range of stakeholders, guiding them to make an informed decision on a certain course of actionSharing and presenting key insights to the stakeholders through storytelling and visualisation techniquesTurning teams’ goals and hypotheses into well defined data analysis tasks and elaborate upon the Key Performance Metrics
You’ll be a successful Data Analyst at OVO if you…
1+ years in a similar data or analytical role.Highly proficient in SQL with experience using BigQuery and Dataform preferableCan confidently build and present meaningful data visualisations using Tableau or LookerCan interpret graphical representations of data and make recommendations Statistical knowledge including sampling, significance, hypothesis testing and basic probability theoryHighly numerate & analytical, able to delve into the detail but understand the strategic viewAble to document and version control your work so others can pick it up and build on it using GitHub and ConfluenceProven ability to engage productively with internal and external stakeholdersAdaptable to change with experience working in a fast-paced, ambitious, customer focused environmentExcellent presentation and communication skills - able to articulate results clearly and concisely to stakeholders.
