Job description

As an Engineering Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to grow and mentor a team of engineers while making a significant impact on the final product from day one. You’ll play a key leadership role in delivering innovative solutions that empower our marketing efforts and uphold our commitment to customer privacy and data security.The Marketing & Privacy team focuses on building systems and features that help Minted drive growth through personalized marketing, while safeguarding customer data and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. This role requires both technical expertise and strong leadership skills to manage a high-performing team and align stakeholders across the organization.

You will:
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and inclusion.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Data Science, and Legal to define technical strategies that balance growth opportunities with privacy and compliance requirements.
  • Set and drive technical direction, ensuring the development of scalable, maintainable, and secure systems.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of privacy-focused systems, marketing automation tools, and analytics pipelines to enable data-driven decision-making while protecting user information.
  • Ensure adherence to privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA, working with Legal and Product teams to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Prioritize and manage projects, ensuring timely delivery of impactful features and technical initiatives.
  • Advocate for and implement best practices in engineering such as code reviews, automated testing, performance enhancements, service-oriented architecture, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Own team hiring, performance reviews, and career development to build and retain top engineering talent.


  • You have:
  • A technical foundation with a BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience and 5+ years in software engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience leading teams as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or similar role.
  • Expertise in full stack development and system design, with a strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and cloud architectures.
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or similar, and a solid grasp of SQL and database modeling.
  • Familiarity with marketing systems (e.g., email marketing platforms, tag management,  customer segmentation tools, analytics pipelines) and privacy technologies (e.g., data encryption, anonymization techniques).
  • Experience working with privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA, including implementing technical solutions to ensure compliance.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to align diverse stakeholders around a shared vision.
  • A passion for mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of growth, accountability, and psychological safety.

  • Compensation:

    The compensation range for the role applies to employment offers from Minted. Our employment offers fall between the minimum and midpoint of the range to allow for continued salary growth during your employment at Minted. The upper half of the range accommodates this growth and supports our intention to create an environment that encourages lasting relationships between Minted and our employees.

    Geo Base Full Salary Range 0 - Includes SF Bay Area $195,445- $256,521
    Geo Base Full Salary Range 1 - All non-SF CA, DC, NY - $179,809- $236,000
    Geo Base Full Salary Range 2 - Includes CO, IL, MA, MD, NJ, OR, RI, TX, VT, VA, WA - $166,128-$218,043
    Geo Base Full Salary Range 3 - Includes AL, AK, AZ, AR, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, NV, NH, NC, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, WI, WV, WY- $152,447 -$200,087

    Salaries will vary based on various factors including but not limited to professional and academic experience, associated job responsibilities, and/or other business or organizational needs.

    This role is eligible for an annual performance bonus and stock options.
