Job description

Position Summary:

The CAS (Client Accounting Services) Manager plays a key role in driving growth and ensuring the quality of services provided by the firm. This role collaborates closely with company management to scale the operations of the Philippines office. The ideal candidate will possess an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for growing the firm, with a strong focus on mentoring and developing staff.

The CAS Manager is responsible for executing and supervising routine engagement procedures with professionalism and timeliness. The role involves preparing monthly accounting projects, reviewing work performed by CAS seniors and staff, and ensuring deadlines and budgets are met while providing advanced warnings of variances. The CAS Manager should have expertise in QuickBooks, a complete understanding of debits and credits, and the ability to produce accurate financial reports, explain variances, and report on KPIs. A working knowledge of US payroll and reporting is essential.

Additionally, the CAS Manager is responsible for offering creative, forward-looking services while serving as a mentor and leader, balancing workload distribution between self and team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train, and mentor seniors and staff effectively.
  • Develop technical expertise to serve as a resource within the firm.
  • Manage and maintain multiple client relationships, engagements, and special projects.
  • Engage clients in discussions on strategic and operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure engagements are completed on time and within budget.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to CAS team members and encourage accountability.
  • Prepare monthly client billings, ensuring realization targets are met and variances are explained.
  • Collaborate with the Tax Department to coordinate CAS services for the US tax team.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and US-based clients when required.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with peers and leaders from the US, and relay outcomes to the team, providing any necessary education or retraining.
  • Supervise workflow and staff assignments to maximize productivity.
  • Review performance and productivity reports, providing constructive feedback.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on work assignments and offer training as needed.
  • Evaluate forecasts against capacity to balance schedules and workflows.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and performance reviews for team members.
  • Handle additional responsibilities as assigned.

  • Familiarity with Bill.com, ADP, and other write-up software (a plus).
  • Experience working in a paperless environment.
  • Capability to perform in a fast-paced setting with minimal supervision.
  • Strong multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.





Requirements

Candidates must meet the following qualifications to be considered for the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred).
  • CPA certification (a plus).
  • 5+ years of full-charge bookkeeping experience.
  • 5+ years of payroll processing and payroll tax reporting experience (knowledge of certified payroll processing is a plus).
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor staff effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Advanced computer and technical proficiency, including experience with QuickBooks, ADP Payroll, Microsoft Office Suite, and other accounting software.
  • Availability to collaborate with US managers and staff during US time zones as required.
