This role combines strong project management, communication, and organizational skills to oversee processes, collaborate across departments, and work with external vendors.

Initially focused on processes for content management, this role will expand to include vendor contract management and process optimization over time. The [Associate/Manager] will provide strategic input to refine workflows while also implementing them effectively.

This is a full-time, remotely-located, paid position reporting to the National Director of Marketing/Communications. Compensation offered will be commensurate with experience. We offer excellent benefits including employer-shared medical and dental insurance premiums, employer-paid short- and long-term disability, life and accidental death & dismemberment insurance, flexible spending account for medical and child care, commuter pre-tax benefit, eligibility to participate in 401K with generous 5% employer match and 100% vested at time of eligibility, 12 paid holidays, 17 PTO days first year, and personal days.

This position will primarily be responsible for:

Editorial Calendar Management

  • Develop and maintain an editorial calendar that aligns with organizational campaigns and priorities.
  • Coordinate content submissions across teams (e.g., digital, PR, fundraising).
  • Ensure content deadlines are met and facilitate cross-departmental collaboration.

Translation Process Management

  • Manage the process for translating external-facing materials from English to Spanish (and potentially other languages).
  • Collaborate with internal staff, advisory councils, and vendors to ensure translations are accurate, culturally sensitive, and aligned with organizational messaging.
  • Coordinate with external translation vendors as needed and oversee quality control for all translated materials.

Production Management

  • Serve as the project lead for producing the organization’s magazine, managing timelines, content development, and approvals.
  • Work closely with design, editorial, and print vendors to ensure high-quality production of any additional major print publications.
  • Coordinate publication distribution strategies with internal and external stakeholders.

Cross-Team Coordination and Vendor Management

  • Serve as the main point of contact for print and translation vendors, maintaining strong relationships to ensure smooth operations.
  • Work closely with teams across the organization, including digital, fundraising, and PR, to align on content strategies and campaign execution.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to evaluate and refine processes for improved efficiency.

Required Qualifications (You will be a good fit if you have the following):

Education and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, project management or other relevant discipline(s).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience managing editorial workflows, translation processes, or bilingual/multilingual content.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working with diverse vendors and stakeholders.
  • Ability to provide strategic input on process improvements and workflow optimizations.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (or ability to learn quickly).
  • Passion for patient-directed care, advocacy, or nonprofit work is a plus.

Values:  Must be energized by the idea of working at an organization with the following values:

  • Compassionate in our conviction that dying patients should be free of unwanted treatment, suffering or outside interference.
  • Respectful of the autonomy of individuals to decide what end-of-life options are best for them and their family.
