We are looking for a Risk Analyst who will join our Corporate Risk Department team based in Marysville, OH.


The Risk Analyst (RA) will be responsible for supporting and collaborating with internal business units and external partners to support the risk management function. The risk management function consists of identifying, assessing, and prioritizing risks in order to minimize the potential negative impacts on an organization, project, or individual. It involves coordinating and  implementing strategies to manage or mitigate those risks, ensuring that potential threats are effectively addressed and that opportunities are maximized. The goal is to protect resources, ensure safety, maintain continuity, and achieve objectives within an acceptable level of risk. Effective risk management helps organizations avoid or reduce damage, comply with regulations, improve decision-making, and protect long-term value.


Primary responsibilities for this role include support of all aspects of the corporate risk team including ad-hoc support of the enterprise risk management program.. This position involves analyzing insurance policies including  risk data in the form of loss runs, developing risk mitigation strategies, and assisting in the implementation of risk management practices. The RA works closely with the Manager, Enterprise Risk & Insurance as well as other departments to ensure effective risk management.

What you’ll do in this role:
-Compile and analyze underwriting submissions for global insurance placements, review proposals, and assist in making recommendations to management
-Provide General Liability and Automobile Liability claim guidance by completing settlement analysis, providing recommendations to management and assisting business partners with complex claims, and administering the claim review processes
-Maintain policy documentation, including following up on outstanding items, reviewing documents to ensure accuracy 
-Collaborate with various departments to ensure risk mitigation strategies are integrated into operational processes and assist partners with evaluating the impact of identified risks on the organization
-Assist management with the preparation and documentation of ERM materials and assist with the coordination of ERM surveys and assessments
-Review regulatory changes, emerging risks and regularly communicate with internal stakeholders  on updates
-Evaluate and maintain regular claim reports for businesses and accounting as well as analyzes exposures and claims data and communicates with finance functional leadership to drive risk mitigation and prevent financial losses
-Review contracts to identify potential risks and ensure compliance with company policies
-Administer the Insurance Certificate and Automobile ID Card processes and process payments
-Maintain relationships with third party vendors and maintain processes and build relationships with alternative vendors
-Helps manage relationships with third party service providers including brokers, insurers and other TPAs. Assist internal customers with inquiries and ensure management of processes are occurring as detailed. 
-Help coordinate insurance expense payments and reserve adjustments
-Prepare the annual risk and insurance budget for review with management
-Acts as records retention contact for all Risk & Insurance records and helps lead the program efforts; The position coordinates activities related to the annual insurance renewal process including the issuance of insurance binders, invoices, policies, and endorsements; Maintains electronic copies of all documents.
-Assists with the issuance of surety bonds where required by regulatory agencies

Education & Experience:
-Bachelor's degree with minimum 2 years of experience in a corporate risk management department, insurance company or as an insurance broker OR High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of experience in a corporate risk management department, insurance company or insurance broker.
-Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers. Advanced knowledge of Google products (Sheets, Docs, and Slides) and MS Office (Excel, including pivot tables, Word, and PowerPoint).
 

The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $65,900.00 - $77,500.00 per year. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
