The Role
The Netflix Change Automation team is crucial to our Developer Experience organization. It focuses on making infrastructure changes seamless and reducing the manual effort required across the engineering fleet. This team is responsible for creating a developer platform that facilitates updates, migrations, and software changes throughout the engineering organization. Their primary goals include reducing friction and cognitive load, minimizing manual interventions during migrations, and enabling the adoption of new technologies through automated code changes, validation, and deployment.
We are looking for a seasoned engineering manager to lead the team in creating a best-in-class platform that allows customers to deliver fully automated solutions in a self-service environment. You will work on initiatives like the Change Automation platform, which aims to accelerate technology change and reduce toil, and the Fleetwide Change orchestration system, which seeks to minimize human interventions in campaigns.
Who You Are:
An experienced engineering leader dedicated to people development, fostering a robust team environment, and cultivating an inclusive culture
Possess excellent communication skills, both internally and externally
Experience leading full-stack teams within a centralized infrastructure engineering organization
A superb collaborator across teams who is proactive, able to drive alignment, and can clearly articulate tradeoffs with partner teams
Skilled in working with customers and demonstrating customer empathy by deeply understanding user needs, what constitutes a good user experience, and the ability to translate and prioritize user requirements into actionable tasks
Approach problems with a product mindset with experience in close partnerships with Product Management and Design
Proficient in data-driven decision-making
A creative problem solver who recognizes that conventional methods won't achieve our goals
An informed leader with a background in Software Engineering
Someone comfortable wearing multiple hats depending on the needs of the team
Accomplished in driving large-scale migrations and have the lessons learned to prove it!
Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $190,000 - $920,000
