Summary
The primary purpose of the Associate Financial Analyst position is to provide operational support to Endowment Compliance Program and General Accounting Tax Compliance. Support Endowment Compliance by reviewing, researching, monitoring, and reporting on processes and activities to ensure compliance with established policies, guidelines, and regulations of the institution, UT System, and State government. Assist the General Accounting's Tax Compliance team with multi-State tax processing. Work hand in hand with Tax Compliance and Human Resources to process/submit business registrations with the various State government agencies. Lastly, responsible for certain assigned account reconciliations.
Job Specific Competencies
Endowment Compliance Program Based on work reviewed by Endowment Compliance's Program Supervisor, provide operation support of AP Compliance related processes, and posted GL activity to ensure Endowment compliance. In addition, based on available ProCard data, as well as ProCard guidelines, assist to ensure review of posted activity, identify non-compliant transaction, and notify appropriate ProCard card holders for correction action.
Procard Audit Program Based on available ProCard data, as well as ProCard guidelines, assist to ensure review of posted activity, identify non-compliant transaction, and notify appropriate ProCard card holders for correction action.
Multi State Tax Processing Assist General Accounting's Tax Compliance team with processing non-resident alien tax summary reports by scanning the documents to the appropriate Tax Compliance folder and mailing them to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). In addition, process 1042S Check Requests by updating proper NRA files, preparing the 1042S check requests, and communicating with Treasury for payments to the IRS.
General Accounting Operations Reconcile monthly General Ledger accounts assigned by General Accounting. Provide analysis on un-reconciled items and process corrections on a timely basis. Process Tuition Payments 3 times per year. Participate, support, and coordinate any General Accounting Division assigned project or programs within designated deadlines.
Other duties as assigned by manager Effectively complete other task assigned by management. Cross-train with other department/division finance team members to provide back-up assistance, when required. Provide other financial support as identified by the General Accounting Division leadership.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related business specialty.
Required Experience
No experience is required. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
Preferred Experience/Skills
Financial Analysis experience, Excel, highly self-motivated, possesses excellent communication skills, organized, can work independently, is comfortable with technology.
