Join Benevity as our Engineering Director and lead diverse software development teams that contribute to building our suite of products and providing operational and efficiency improvements to help us scale. Collaborate with stakeholders to transform ambitious roadmaps into achievable plans, utilizing your project management expertise for timely delivery. Inspire cross-functional teams through data-driven execution and technical oversight, extending your mentorship beyond your direct team. Your valuable technical input will enhance our software development practices, empowering teams to reach their full potential.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead a team of over 30 developers, staff, and managers
  • Provide coaching and mentorship, focusing on developing tech leaders
  • Advocate for sound software development practices, improving our SDLC processes
  • Collaborate with product teams to create engaging software
  • Guide technical and architectural decisions for better visibility
  • Manage project portfolios and capacity, ensuring balanced workloads
  • Generate reports on software development efforts
  • Represent Benevity at events, focusing on tech recruitment and branding
  • Cultivate a positive tech culture, making Benevity a great place to work

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience managing a software development team
  • A growth-oriented mindset with a passion for high-growth, mature start-up environments
  • Demonstrated experience in software product development using cloud technologies in a SaaS environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with both technical and business audiences

  • Experience leading the development of API-first microservices
  • Experience integrating with third party vendors and partners
  • Deep understanding of software architecture and best practices
