Part-Time Social Media Editor - Marthastewart.com
Dotdash Meredith is seeking a Social Media Editor to help maintain and  grow the social media footprint of Marthastewart.com.
 
We are looking for a smart, savvy, and hard-working social media editor with a passion for all things home, gardening, and food, who is eager to help increase our following and engagement across platforms. They will be responsible for executing the social media strategy across all our social platforms, including Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, and Facebook. This person will have extensive social media experience, with their finger on the pulse of any new social trends and a passion for experimenting with new audiences and platforms. The right candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of the Martha Stewart aesthetic and brand. They will operate as part of the editorial team and will work closely with a social coordinator. 



Assignment Details: 

 

40 hours a week
Start date: 1/20/2025
End date: 20 weeks
Hourly Rate: $30-35 
Location: Remote - US

 

Assignment Responsibilities:

 

  • Work with GM and editorial team to execute strategy for a cohesive social presence by promoting our best content on Martha Stewart’s Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, TikTok, and Threads accounts
  • Partner with editorial teams and brand merchandising partners to launch and manage creative social campaigns that support on-site content, community engagement, and larger brand initiatives
  • Write compelling, social-friendly copy for evergreen and news content that reflects our brand voice and values.  
  • Work closely with social media contractors who help produce and schedule content as needed. 
  • Track, analyze, and report data and insights on our growth and engagement to support all strategic decisions
  • Provide guidance to the editorial team on writing social headlines that will drive clicks and engagement across platforms. 
  • Work closely with DDM social strategy team to stay informed of trends and policies that are ever-changing. 

 

Skills/Experience:

 

  • 3-5 years of demonstrated experience working as a social media professional or community manager for a brand or publication (a strong personal social presence is a plus)
  • Strong graphic design and video editing skills, preferably familiar with Canva and Adobe
  • Passionate about all things Martha Stewart.
  • Must have exceptional communication skills 
  • Journalism/editorial background strongly preferred
  • Proactive, creative, flexible team player with a good sense of humor and entrepreneurial spirit, able to roll with the punches and take ownership of responsibilities in a fluid and fast-moving environment
  • Expert-level proficiency with writing, editing, and curation of content for brands on social networks such as TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, and other emerging social platforms
  • Experience with social media schedulers and analytics tools preferred (ex. Dash Hudson, Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, True Anthem, etc.)
  • Ability to accurately interpret social analytics and report to senior management
  • Process- and detail-oriented and deadline-focused
  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in social media or communications a major plus
