As a Data Practitioner with VGM Homelink, you’ll play a key role in ensuring upkeep and development of organizational reporting to support business decision-making. This role will build and maintain standardized SQL Server Reporting Services products and ad hoc datasets used to generate reports on financial, operational, and market intelligence to aid in business performance monitoring and business decision making. You will work in partnership with both technical and business teams to gather requirements for creating standardized reports, maintain existing reports, and evaluating and improving our overall SSRS system.

Reporting Accountability: Director of Data Solutions 

Working Location: On-Site in Waterloo, IA; hybrid or remote 

Working Hours: Full-Time, 8am-5pm+ CST Monday-Friday 


Responsibilities/Duties of the Job

  • Support the day-to-day performance, maintenance, and monitoring of SQL/SSRS reports and interfaces
  • Ensure that proper controls are in place so that reports are accurate and timely; resolve any issues/errors
  • Contribute to the reports development lifecycle including understanding of requirements, designing and development of reports
  • Create SQL queries to provide ad-hoc reports, analysis, and datasets based on business needs
  • Develop and design standard reports, custom reports, and dashboards using MS SQL Server data query tools and other reporting/dashboarding tools

 

Position Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • 0-2 years’ experience working with data or analytical projects
  • Highly motivated individual that works well on their own and within team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Communicates effectively with both business, technical stakeholders as well as executive leadership
  • Experience with Excel, SSRS, Power-BI, Tableau, or other data analysis tools
  • Experience with SQL ideal but not required

Physical Requirements:

  • Operation of office equipment and using technology efficiently such as computers, phones, misc. office equipment
  • Visual abilities to include reading, distance vision and peripheral vision
  • Comfort and acceptance of a remote work environment; working at a distance from the home-office and team members yet staying connected through in-office virtual networks. Occasional travel to business-critical meetings or events. Rare but on occasion.

Compensation Overview 

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.
