We are a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Marine Business Development Manager. This position reports to Director of OEM Sales and reside in the Southeast Region of the United States. Position will require travel at approximately 50%
This position is a combination role that will work as regional business development and sales manager for Dometic Marine. This role will drive strategic growth and manage both business development initiatives and key OEM accounts within the assigned territory. This role focuses on expanding Dometic’s market share by identifying new opportunities, fostering strong OEM partnerships, and ensuring the successful integration of key product categories—Ride & Handling, Boat Living, and Mobile Power Solutions. With responsibilities across account management and business development, this position plays a critical role in both driving new sales and supporting existing customer applications. The role may also include acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned products, providing technical expertise across the organization.
Main Responsibilities:
Business Development & Strategic Growth: Identify, prioritize, and drive new business opportunities with a high ROI, expanding Dometic’s footprint within OEM and industrial applications. Work closely with the product development team to ensure alignment with market needs.
Account Management: Manage and grow assigned OEM accounts within the territory, focusing on strong customer engagement, satisfaction, and long-term relationships. Ensure Dometic’s products align with customer applications.
Sales Funnel & Pipeline Management: Maintain a strong sales pipeline from lead generation through to deal closing, with a focus on value-based selling. Manage the entire sales funnel, ensuring accurate tracking, follow-up, and achievement of sales targets.
Customer-Focused Selling: Engage with key decision-makers at OEMs to showcase the unique value of Dometic’s products. Drive sales growth by aligning product solutions with customer challenges, leveraging technical product advantages in presentations and negotiations.
Aftermarket Team Collaboration: Coordinate with the AM team to provide a seamless customer journey from product integration at the OEM level to post-sales support, ensuring consistent communication and customer satisfaction.
Product Demonstrations & Technical Support: Lead product demonstrations for OEMs, highlighting technical benefits and addressing customer-specific applications. Serve as a technical resource and, when assigned.
Market Intelligence & Strategic Insights: Monitor and report on competitive actions and market trends that could impact the business, ensuring strategic sales planning and response to evolving market conditions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing, engineering, and product management teams to refine product offerings, align with customer needs, and provide feedback from the field that drives future product development.
Stakeholder Communication & Relationship Development: Build and nurture long-term relationships with key stakeholders within OEMs, trade organizations, and the marine dealer network. Deliver effective presentations and regular updates to both internal and external stakeholders on sales and product integration progress.
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or a related field.
- 5-7 years of business development experience in marine, automotive, or industrial sectors.
- Proven success in analyzing ROI and selecting high-potential opportunities.
- Experience in managing sales funnels and full product lifecycles.
- Focus on strategic, cross-industry applications for marine products with a strong ROI focus.
