Job description

Role Summary:

The Port Arthur, TX Engineering Co-op is to provide support of End-User Aftermarket Application Engineering team and local Sales Engineers in various business activities related to mechanical seals, seal support systems, and pumps. The activities include but not limited to working with others to support completion of equipment surveys and data acquisition for rotating equipment at customer facilities, completing as found condition reports on failed components, researching application specific information, and supporting key initiatives as designated by the local management.

Responsibilities:

  • Will support the equipment survey process and Flowstar.net program

  • Will support inventory survey and consolidation efforts

  • Will support daily advancements toward the agreed upon as set forth by the Engineering Manager

  • Will examine failed products, providing both written and oral explanations to the responsible Flowserve personnel 5. Develop and acquire basic knowledge of pump and mechanical seal fundamentals to support Flowserve activities.

  • Develop and maintain working relationship with Application Engineers, Sales Engineers, Regional Reliability Engineer, and Engineering Manager

  • Attend and support meetings as designated by management

  • Will support key initiatives supporting the local Flowserve Quick Response Center

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in BS of Engineering. In good standing at an accredited university

  • Able to be onsite in Port Arthur area. (This is not a remote role.)

  • Good communication skills and computer skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft programs a must

  • Ability to utilize measuring equipment (i.e. dial calipers, micrometers, etc.) a plus

  • Demonstrates mechanical aptitude

  • Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities in a self-directed environment

  • Ability to learn quickly and develop good troubleshooting skills

  • Strong work ethic with positive attitude

  • Reliable transportation

  • Ability to travel occasionally to support needs within the Southeast Region
