Controller [Sr. Director]

ABOUT THE ROLE: 

Rightway is looking for a leader to head the accounting function. We’re seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the function through our next phase of maturation. The ideal candidate will have experience as an accountant in the PBM and/or Healthcare industry, is a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, extremely detail oriented and excited to join a seasoned team of technology and healthcare experts looking to help humanize the world of healthcare.  The Controller will be pivotal in helping to streamline all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for accurate financial statements, oversee regulatory reporting (including tax planning and compliance) and hire, train and retain a world class accounting team.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all accounting operational functions
  • Preparing internal and external financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, statement of cash flows)
  • Hire, train, and retain skilled accounting staff
  • Drive timely month end close and associated analysis
  • Manage year end audit process and implement recommendations going forward
  • Partner cross-functionally to implement best accounting practices
  • Collaborate to establish, monitor, and enforce internal financial controls
  • Assist with finance and risk analysis; review and analyzing financial statements and reports
  • Track KPIs and financial guarantees and help prepare financial reports
  • Ensure compliance with financial guidelines, company policies, and relevant legal regulations

WHO YOU ARE: 

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in accounting, financial planning, analysis, and modeling
  • Highly preferred experience in pharmacy benefit management, health insurance, or managed health care
  • Managed large accounting teams previously, with an eye for training and retaining top talent
  • Ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience
  • Proficiency in GSuite, Office, and accounting and ERP tools (Netsuite, Bill.com, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment
  • Can-do attitude with strong desire to implement and continuously improve
