Job Title: Lead Cloud Network Engineer
Location: Remote, Costa Rica
Job Type: Full-Time

Position Summary
The Lead Cloud Network Engineer will collaborate with Cloud Operations, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Software Development teams to design network solutions for cloud environments. This role will help define strategies to leverage cloud infrastructure to meet the evolving technological, regulatory, security, and competitive demands. The Lead Cloud Network Engineer will have a strong background in networking, public cloud environments, cloud-native architecture, and application modernization. This role reports to the VP of Infrastructure and is a key position within our IT organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the network architecture strategy for our Private/Hybrid/Public Cloud adoption, including long-term network architecture planning in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Cloud, Systems, and Cybersecurity Architects to guide public cloud strategy and standards.
  • Architect, design, and implement solutions to enable secure and scalable public cloud connectivity.
  • Develop and standardize automation templates for deploying cloud infrastructure and platform components.
  • Leverage cloud-native approaches to support business goals and requirements, ensuring integration with legacy systems where necessary.
  • Design security-focused solutions at every stage of design, implementation, and operation.
  • Ensure that cloud network solutions are secure, scalable, repeatable, and highly available.
  • Transfer knowledge and provide guidance on cloud architecture, design, and delivery to engineering and operations teams.
  • Participate actively in cloud computing communities and contribute to forums or working groups.
  • Influence technology selection for the enterprise and create High-Level Design documentation for critical initiatives.
  • Make recommendations on next-generation capabilities to support emerging business needs.
  • Coordinate efforts to address cyber risks and mitigate threats in a dynamic, cloud-based environment.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure and Networking.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development and deployment in Hybrid Cloud (AWS), with expertise in network architecture and automation frameworks.
  • 4+ years of experience in cloud networking (public, private, hybrid/multi-cloud) across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Proficient in open-source IaC software and automation tools like Terraform, Terragrunt, env0, Ansible, Python, Chef, Puppet, or Salt.
  • Recent experience in modern networking architecture, including network design and operations for campus, data center, and WAN environments with multi-vendor technologies (e.g., SonicWall, Palo Alto, Cisco).
  • Knowledge of networking tools, applications, and ancillary services with a strong grasp of network security practices, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Advanced certifications are a plus, including CCDE, CCIE/CCNP (Routing & Switching or Security), AWS Certified Advanced Networking, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Certified Solutions Architect, etc.
