This role is remote in the Czech Republic. We are only able to accept applications for those based in the Czech Republic and have sponsorship to live and work in the Czech Republic. 

 

What you’ll do at Jamf:

The Senior Director of Software Engineering is responsible for the functional management of multiple software engineering teams/products/features and their deliverables. The Sr. Director works closely with key stakeholders to define and deliver strategic business objectives. The Sr. Director of Software Engineering provides strategic and technical leadership and oversight in the development and implementation of functional software engineering best practices and in the planning and execution of product and technology development. The Sr. Director, Software Engineering will contribute significantly to Jamf’s ability to drive growth and market dominance, aligning with overall company objectives and work to streamline scaling in each stage of the company’s expansion. The Sr. Director is focused on improving organizational-level outcomes. 

 

What you can expect to do in this role: 
  • Active participant in strategic and product roadmap development, identifying gaps, hiring needs, and technical approach for delivery. 
  • Identifies talents and establishes a pipeline of talent within and across the enterprise. 
  • Identifies and implements success metrics for team performance, predictability, scalability, performance, and quality. 
  • Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs). 
  • Provides strategic leadership of the software development function and guides the teams by utilizing expertise, techniques, tools, languages, and practices to coach and mentor. 
  • Builds a trust relationship with teams/organization to understand and proactively manage and mitigate project and technical obstacles and risks. 
  • Builds partnerships to gain strong alignment with architecture, operations, and product to support product development and delivery. 
  • Advocates for and ensures the best technical solutions are implemented for the area of responsibility and influencing best practices across the PDD organization. 
  • Ensures the overall code quality of the JAMF Software code base. 
  • Ensures consistent and effective application of Lean principles and Agile development practices. 
  • Leads, facilitates, and mentors managers and teams in solving the problems of building enterprise software. 
  • Performs key people management responsibilities including hiring, onboarding, developing, and supervising team along with conducting performance appraisals and coaching for performance and career growth. 
  • Mentor and develop team members by providing a clear understanding of career paths, establishing and defining team-level leadership and individual contributor structure, roles, and responsibilities to support departmental goals. 

 

What we are looking for: 
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Enterprise Software development roles demonstrating progressive knowledge and growth in responsibilities (Required). 
  • Minimum of 5 years in development tools (including but not limited to: Java, Objective C, Swift, MySQL, Ruby, Python, Eclipse, Mobile) (Required). 
  • Minimum of 8 years previous management experience (Preferred). 
  • General experience with Mac OS X and iOS platforms (Preferred). 
  • Atlassian Tools (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, etc.) (Preferred). 
  • Agile practitioner experienced in Scrum or Kanban (Preferred). 
  • Continuous Development/Continuous Integration experience (Preferred).
