Job description

Join us at Gorilla and be part of a mission to transform the energy industry. At Gorilla you'll play a vital role in developing cutting-edge data solutions that drive us towards a net-zero future. Our focus is on crafting efficient, reliable, and flexible software applications to tackle the unique challenges of data processing and analysis in the energy sector. Together, we're not only driving digital transformation and maximizing ROI for our clients but also contributing to the global effort of achieving net-zero emissions through technology and data-driven insights

Your role

Reporting to Joris, you will strategically lead the Engineering team, driving alignment with company goals, product vision, and customer needs. This role is pivotal in fostering engineering excellence, enabling cross-functional collaboration, and delivering scalable, reliable, and innovative software solutions. As an Engineering Team Lead, you will guide the team in achieving operational efficiency, ensuring technical excellence, and cultivating a high-performing, engaged, and values-driven culture.

  • Implement engineering process and tooling improvements to enhance cycle times, reduce bugs, and introduce measurable KPIs for quality and accountability.
  • Lead and align engineering teams with cross-functional partners to deliver initiatives on time, ensuring the product remains innovative and competitive.
  • Develop and enhance scalable, reliable product architectures with measurable SLAs to handle increasing demand while maintaining uptime.
  • Effectively manage the trade-off between delivering features, addressing technical debt, and maintaining high-quality standards through clear metrics and accountability.
  • Foster a high-performing team environment by tracking team health metrics and improving engagement and satisfaction levels.
  • Create growth opportunities through structured career paths, regular coaching, and goal-setting to empower skill and career development.
  • Exemplify company values and leadership principles, inspiring cultural initiatives and earning recognition as a role model.
  • Efficiently allocate resources and budgets to ensure cost-effective delivery without compromising team health or product quality.
  • Develop accurate project and budget forecasts with strong planning and resource management to support business goals.
  • Ensure a consistent standard of excellence in product releases, balancing innovation with reliability and maintaining customer satisfaction.

What you'll need
  • Strategic leadership of engineering teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives and delivering impactful outcomes.
  • Experience in building and scaling high-performing teams in fast-paced SaaS environments, particularly during growth from 50 to 250+.
  • Expertise in designing and managing scalable, reliable, and customer-focused software solutions.
  • Proven success in executing complex engineering projects with measurable results and tangible business impact.
  • In-depth knowledge of software architecture, system design principles, and scalability practices.
  • Proficiency in implementing engineering processes, agile methodologies, and robust CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong skills in budgeting, resource allocation, and technical project management to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrated adherence to enterprise-grade security standards, ensuring compliance and customer trust.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and hold teams accountable while fostering a culture of excellence and growth.
  • Skilled communicator with a talent for translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and aligning cross-functional teams.
