Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and counsel on various Labor and Employment matters
  • Conduct labor and employment related contract review and revision
  • Lead projects such as policy revisions, handbook reviews and revisions, legal support of global HR initiatives in the U.S.
  • Adapt the company’s US. policies and practices to align with California and other state laws
  • Develop a suite of HR tools and templates that comply with California legal requirements
  • Represent the company with respect to administrative agency inquiries and charges
  • Manage and work to resolve disputes related to labor and employment topics
  • Conduct and guide internal company investigations and audits to ensure compliance with policy and the law
  • Stay abreast of emerging labor and employment law developments in California and elsewhere
  • Develop and deliver training on new laws and evolving risks

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from a United States law school is required
  • 5+ years of Labor and Employment experience at a law firm or at a law firm and as in-house counsel
  • California law experience is required, federal and multi-state employment law experience is preferred
  • Must have malpractice insurance and be licensed to practice in at least one state in the U.S.
  • Must possess solid working knowledge of Microsoft office systems (Word, Excel and Power Point)
  • Must possess ability to learn and use various company Information Systems effectively
