JOB SUMMARY
The qualified candidate will be an integral contributor to Emergent’s MCM Product Management and Strategy team by managing and supporting cross-functional product and project teams to advance business and corporate objectives. This role will work closely with product management and cross-functional leaders in support of establishing and completing all phases of product and project/program goals and deliverables while meeting company strategy and commitments.
The Project Manager will be expected to build and maintain the appropriate Project Management (PM) structure to facilitate successful execution of project(s)/program(s) they are responsible for, including: Project Management Plans, Scopes, Schedules, Budgets, Resource Plans, Quality Plans, Implementation Plans, project reporting and other PM documents as necessary.
The qualified candidate will be responsible for supporting more than one licensed product and may be responsible for leading multiple projects and programs in support of portfolio and Products Business objectives. The scope of the projects/programs that this role will lead include specific short-term improvements to large-scale, global, complex projects with cross-site/cross-functional teams.

Project and Product Management:
• Manage cross-functional teams, including multi-site/global teams, ensuring that agreed upon strategies are implemented.
• Drive performance to plan to ensure objectives/goals are met.
• Work closely with product management and product teams to build and monitor plans, strategy, and forecasts/budgets.
• Apply project management best practices to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control and close projects and programs.
• Generate and maintain team structure and project management plans, risk management plans, communication plans, budgets/forecasts, timelines, scope management, and other PM tools and documents to manage through product/project lifecycles.
• Manage and appropriately communicate program changes, issues, recommended decisions, and risks.
• Provide accurate/timely budget forecasts and manage activities within approved budgets.
• Provide support for routine and ad hoc project and product teams including meeting facilitation, agendas, minutes, logging and tracking issues, risks, decisions, change requests, and actions.
• Track and monitor financials, schedule, resources, risks, and other appropriate project and performance indicators.
Effective Communication:
• Interact with all levels of employees in alignment with organization’s core values.
• Present program information and status reports to all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
• Represent project/product/organization both internally and externally, including meetings with government agencies. Provide and collaborate on presentation material when necessary.
• Compile, collaborate and communicate updates and reports to funding agencies.
• Build effective and collaborative relationships with peers and leaders.
• Identify and lead resolution to project resource constraints.
• Lead teams through decision-making and escalation processes to resolution.
• Facilitate meetings, risk assessments, and strategy discussions with cross-functional teams and applicable personnel, including senior and executive management.
• Seek and provide feedback to team members as to their performance and areas for improvement.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
• Bachelor’s degree in biological science, business, or related field.
• A minimum of 3+ years Project Management and relevant pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience preferably leading/managing projects in the biologics/vaccine industry is strongly preferred.
• PMP certification preferred.
• Familiarity with GMP requirements is expected.
• Experience managing large-scale government contracts, including meeting financial, status, and risk reporting requirements.
• Fluent in project management tools (MS Project, MS Teams) is essential; experience working in Smartsheet is preferred.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization, including senior internal and/or external personnel on matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
• Strong leadership and facilitation skills, including ability to lead without direct authority.
• Capable of facilitating team problem-solving, developing solutions to complex problems.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, meeting deadlines, and working well under pressure.
• Ability to work independently and multi-task.
U.S. Base Pay Ranges and Benefits Information
The estimated annual base salary as a new hire for this position ranges from $128,500 to $155,500. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. Certain roles are eligible for additional incentive compensation, including merit increases, annual bonus, [and/or long-term incentives in the form of stock options.]
