Role Overview
The Senior Compliance Advisor will play a key role in advising clients on Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) compliance. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working closely with other senior leaders, this individual will lead advisory projects, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact in the field of financial crime compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ongoing Consultancy: Provide expert advisory services to clients in financial crime compliance, including conducting audits, gap analyses, simulated on-site inspections, and assisting with the development of policies and procedures.
  • Training and Development: Design and deliver AML/CFT training workshops, tailored to clients' needs, and help develop training material.
  • Client Relationship Management: Maintain direct communication with clients, managing expectations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Risk Assessment Support: Assist clients with AML/CFT risk assessments and ensure they are up-to-date with regulatory requirements.
  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage AML/CFT and risk management consultancy projects, providing mentorship to junior team members and ensuring timely execution of tasks.
  • Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
    Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience in AML/CFT compliance, preferably within regulated industries such as financial services or igaming.
  • Language Skills: Excellent command of English (both written and spoken). Proficiency in Maltese is an asset.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex regulatory requirements.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal abilities, with a focus on building relationships and mentoring staff.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of local and international AML/CFT regulations and compliance frameworks.
  • Organisation: Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Self-Motivated: A proactive individual who takes initiative and demonstrates leadership in challenging environments.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a keen ability to assess risks and develop practical solutions.
