The Department
Technical Development area comprises of Software & Data Development teams, Group Data Production teams, the Technical Delivery teams, Contractors and 3rd Party Development and is part of a wider IT Operations team that provides a variety of IT services to the Autovista Group business, including; desktop support, storage, networking, server virtualisation, monitoring, Windows and Linux operating systems, databases, applications and projects. Software & Data Development area provides applications support and development for existing applications, new development, products and services, including tools and data production (activities include developing and maintaining all data import, processing, generating, encrypting and delivering data to internal and external Customers and editorial tools) in the Autovista Group. The area is also responsible for managing and improving operational processes from source data through to output, as well as producing quality internal analytics to assist the wider business in decision-making and policy creation.
The Role
The key requirement of the role is to provide technical management and leadership in the applications & product development and implementation of the Group’s strategy in the following areas:
Technical delivery of software project(s) for Australia. Working with the Technical Leads/Managers to manage resources needed for each project, schedules. This includes management of any software & data development issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time technical project delivery.
Managing Customer Applications and internal Editorial Tools support and development in Australia.
IT Vendor Management. Managing 3rd party vendors within the Software & Data Development area and Technical Services area for Australia.
Service Desk Leadership and Management: Responsible for the end-to-end management of the Service Desk requests, ensuring effective triage, escalation, and resolution of end-user issues. Develop and maintain strong communication protocols to assist end users efficiently and effectively. Establish and manage service level agreements (SLAs) and customer satisfaction metrics.
Infrastructure Oversight and Strategy: Manage and oversee the corporate infrastructure to ensure stability, efficiency, and scalability. Conduct regular reviews and updates of infrastructure strategies to align with business goals and technology advancements.
Technical Expertise and Support: Provide technical guidance in areas of specialised infrastructure such as storage, virtual environments, and server operating systems. Lead complex troubleshooting efforts across the infrastructure to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
Compliance and Risk Management: Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with ISO 27001 and other relevant standards. Manage the infrastructure risk register, identifying and mitigating potential risks to maintain service integrity and security.
The Candidate
As an Infrastructure & Software Development Manager you will lead the Australian Technical area, providing focussed and motivated leadership and effective organisational structure for Australia, ensuring appropriate resourcing, training and development, with clear achievable objectives to maximise the teams and individual performance.
Manage the technical delivery portfolio of complex projects that span one or multiple teams for Australia working with the Scrum Master to provide on-site leadership for the delivery teams by building and motivating team members to meet development delivery goals and ensuring that all development is carried out according to industry best-practice standards of a project. Deliver appropriate and effective executive level communication.
Previous software development experience in any of the following languages: ASP.NET, C#, Java or Delphi.
Technical proficiency and knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, and systems to effectively manage and troubleshoot issues as well as knowledge on some of the most common enterprise level database engines and technologies e.g. MS SQL, Oracle, SSIS, ETL etc. Strong understanding of Helpdesk and Customer Relations Support systems is a must. Must be flexible and willing to work in both structured and unstructured environments at times
You will be able to work well in a team in a remote environment. Good time management skills are very valuable to help ensure deadlines are met. Knowledge of the automotive industry is a big advantage, if not an ability to pick up new information quickly is a must.
