How will you make a difference?

This position is responsible for the safeworking/protection of people, equipment and property conducting work in and around client railway networks.  

What will your typical day look like?

  • Promote and ensure the highest standards of health, safety and environmental management systems are implemented and adhered to;
  • Ensure that people and property working near or on track are protected from rail hazards;
  • Understanding of client rail network rules in terms of risks and hazards associated with working within the rail network;
  • Determine authority and protection methods required for rail vehicle movements at every worksite;
  • Liaise with project management daily, to plan safeworking/protection to ensure projects can be carried out on time/budget;
  • Complete Safeworking Documentation as required by client;
  • Maintains and fosters relationships with current and potential stakeholders, in particular, clients, service providers, contractors, subcontractors and employees

What do we want to know about you?

  • Considerable amount of experience operating as a Safeworking/Protection Officer working in the rail corridor;
  • Ability to obtain a CAT 1 Rail Medical and Clearance Letter from a Chief Medical Officer (CMO)
  • Hold a valid Rio Tinto M5 Protection Officer Accreditation;
  • Hold a valid PTA PO2 Protection Officer Accreditation;
  • Hold a valid Brookfield PO2 Protection Officer Accreditation;
  • Hold a valid Drivers License  
  • Plant operating tickets or previous TA/labouring experience on construction project
