The Department
Technical Development area comprises of Software & Data Development teams, Group Data Production teams, the Technical Delivery teams, Contractors and 3rd Party Development and is part of a wider IT Operations team that provides a variety of IT services to the Autovista Group business, including; desktop support, storage, networking, server virtualisation, monitoring, Windows and Linux operating systems, databases, applications and projects. Software & Data Development area provides applications support and development for existing applications, new development, products and services, including tools and data production (activities include developing and maintaining all data import, processing, generating, encrypting and delivering data to internal and external Customers and editorial tools) in the Autovista Group. The area is also responsible for managing and improving operational processes from source data through to output, as well as producing quality internal analytics to assist the wider business in decision-making and policy creation.
The Role
The key requirement of the role is responsible for managing and coordinating all programmatic Changes and Release to all Autovista platforms (From UAT, Staging and Live). Implementing the Release Management process and governance framework. Integrating and coordinating the work of all stakeholders and participants involved in any Change or Release and related scheduling. Assuring the quality of supplier Release Management documentation and delivery of services.
Leading and Governing the Release processes. Working with the Senior Release Manager, DevOps, Developers and Testers to implement automated month releases. The Release Manager will work with Senior Release Manager, TPM’s, PM and the development managers to determine the contents and timings of each Release.
The Candidate
As a Release Manager you will work on multiple projects in an enterprise environment where you will plan and organise release management activities in alignment with the platform timeline. You will manage the release schedule, working closely with both third-party suppliers and development, infrastructure, DBA and operations teams. You will define and communicate the releases and produce release documentation and identify dependencies. You will oversee the scope for the delivery of global digital solutions and ensure these are of the highest quality and within the programme timeframes. You will have knowledge and have worked in a team that has implemented automated releases using CI/CD process.
You will be able to work well in a team in a remote environment. Good time management skills are very valuable to help ensure deadlines are met. Knowledge of the automotive industry is a big advantage, if not an ability to pick up new information quickly is a must.
