Job description

TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods is a great place to work. You can see it in our team members. The diversity of the team and their unique contributions set us apart from the competition. Our success is based as much on our future friendly team as the innovative technology solutions we offer.

Join our team!

The Compensation team is passionate about bringing thought leadership, innovation and expertise to the design and delivery of compensation programs within the total rewards offerings. We look to inspire an exceptional team member experience which differentiates TELUS from our competitors.

Here’s what we believe:

  • We are ONE team - there’s no room for egos or blame
  • Everything we do is tied to the business
  • We challenge the status quo - and when others think we’re done, we make it better
  • We live up to our commitments - to ourselves, our friends, family, peers, leaders and our customers
  • Our success is all about how we do things - how we think, solve problems, deliver, communicate, and more

What you bring

As Senior Organizational Design & Compensation Consultant, you will bring your thought leadership and in-depth knowledge of job architecture, organizational design, change management and compensation to an international technology organization with Canadian headquarters and operations across the globe (100k+ team members across the Americas, EMEA and APAC).

You will provide professional understanding of organizational design, compensation, total rewards, and human resources and use your knowledge to reinforce the design, education and implementation of compensation initiatives that support the constantly changing needs of our business landscape.

With your strategic mindset, innovative approach and pragmatism, you will support the effective design and delivery of global transformation programs including: job architecture, job leveling, salary structure and incentive plan design and M&A integrations. You thrive on challenging the status quo, are confident presenting recommendations to senior leadership, and can adapt your approach across regions. You take pride in your expertise in stakeholder management and delivering thoughtful insights derived from complex data.

Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together!

As a member of the Compensation COE team within People & Culture (P&C), you will research, analyze, and advise on compensation programs and initiatives across the globe. You will partner with other teams such as Communications, Learning & Development, Labour Relations, People & Culture Business Partners, DEI, and M&A as you seek to solve a diverse set of challenges with a data driven approach.

The People & Culture team and senior leaders in the organization depend on the Compensation COE team to provide expertise on market trends and legislation, and we help empower leaders to effectively attract and retain new team members in alignment with the TELUS compensation strategy.

Here’s how

  • Leverage your OD expertise to advise on implementation of global transformation programs and impacts related to job titles, job levels, reporting structures and hierarchies
  • Contribute to the development of compensation strategy, design, and implementation of programs across business segments and multiple geographies
  • Provide guidance and expertise on job architecture to maintain an effective job level structure, job family framework and job titling strategy, including updating job mappings and ensuring job profiles reflect current requirements and competencies
  • Design and lead an enterprise wide job evaluation committee; from process design, to managing a regular cadence of committee meetings through to review and approval/denial of new job creation requests for Management Professional positions, in liaison with Compensation Consultants and Labour Relations consultants
  • Help to define the structure of our organization by supporting job evaluation efforts for provincial, federal and global entities; ensuring job descriptions are fair and consistent and providing training to People & Culture Business Partners and Leaders on effective job creation
  • Partner with Program Manager(s) in the design and delivery of change management plans including creation of training materials and communications, collaborating with Communications and L&D colleagues to support key stakeholders such as executives, people leaders, and People & Culture Business Partners
  • Analyze, monitor progress, develop and track KPIs to continuously adapt the change management plan as necessary
  • Conduct specialist research, analysis and audits to support the development and evaluation of future-state OD propositions, identification of costs and business benefits of change
  • Provide impact analysis of compensation programs to maintain consistency with broader organizational vision and strategies, mitigate risk and realize efficiencies
  • Support the integration of acquisitions by conducting analysis of total rewards implications, job mapping, compensation and benefits harmonisation opportunities and alignment with total rewards strategy, in collaboration with the PAI (post acquisition integrations) team
  • Secure executive buy-in and support senior leadership stakeholders by creating high-quality concise presentations and analyses; outlining recommendations, trends and cost impacts
