Reporting in to the Chief Medical Officer – Customer group, we have an exciting part time (0.5 FTE) opportunity for a Senior Medical Advisor to join the Health Advisory and Service Evaluation Squad at Medibank.

 

To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified (Australian registered) Medical Practitioner who has experience in supporting complex clinical decision making, expertise in healthcare funding and systems and experience in supporting clinical governance.

 

This flexible role will allow you to work from home in a flexible work environment that will emphasises work life balance whilst giving you an opportunity to provide clinical leadership and expertise across Medibank to support the achievement of Medibank’s 2030 vision.

 

Other key elements of the role include:

  • Supporting the clinical process team to ensure determinations of whether or not members have Pre-Existing Conditions
  • Providing medical advice in a timely manner to support HPAT, frontline, resolutions and Fund Policy in resolving product cover issues
  • Working with Products, Legal and Fund Policy in resolving scope of cover issues
  • Providing clinical support as required for projects & initiatives that have an impact on health outcomes
  • Contributing proactively to the achievement of the Clinical Hub’s objectives
  • Participating in divisional and organisational projects and initiatives as required

 

Now, who are you? 

 

Enough about us, let’s talk about you… you are a degree qualified Australian registered Medical Practitioner and have have aleast a few years of clinical experience having worked in clinical governance, patient safety and quality improvement.

 

You also have very strong analytical skills and might have post graduate qualifications in medical administration. Experience in PHI and MBS funding systems will be key to ensuring your application stands out for this role.

 

You are confident delivering presentations and are someone who can ‘read the room’, understand what’s required and communicate with clarity.

 

You have exceptional interpersonal skills and have experience in people leadership with the demonstrated ability to work with cross functional teams.
