How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

We are currently looking for a candidate to join our UK legal team, reporting to and working alongside the General Counsel for the UK and Nordics. In this new role you will collaborate with business stakeholders within a fast paced,
innovative and dynamic environment.

We have a broad and diverse portfolio of operating entities across the UK. The UK General Counsel is responsible for traversing each business line ranging from production and supply of industrial gas, healthcare supply direct to
patients, off shore and renewable energy.

We are looking for someone who is much more than a legal advisor, partnering closely with certain business lines you will take the lead role enabling and supporting the delivery of those business line's ambitions including
achieving their ESG commitments.
  • You will work closely with the General Counsel and collaborate with teams across the business lines in the UK with some exposure to other European jurisdictions.
  • The role is a true commercial generalist working on a range of commercial contract negotiations. The key is to advise the business on risk and balance this with achievement of the the commercial ambitions of the business.
  • Alongside the commercial advice the role will contribute to many wider topics in the business such as real estate, employee relations, regulatory to name a few.
  • Whilst not essential, experience of and/or an interest to learn more about GDPR would be a great attribute.
  • As a custodian of the compliance and ethics programme, you will lead by example and play a key role in implementing training, policies, and guidelines across the business.

Are you a MATCH?

The role will suit a motivated individual who is keen to learn and step outside of the comfort zone, taking on new challenges in a fast-paced environment.

  • You have relevant solid experience of between 2-5 years post qualification working in practice and/or an in-house environment within an industrial, engineering, manufacturing or similar environment.
  • You have proven experience in reviewing and drafting a wide range of legal documents ranging from NDAs to complex supply/purchase contracts.
  • You have a good understanding of evolving regulations relevant to the business including those relating to safety, environment, data privacy and ESG.
  • You will be an effective communicator with strong negotiating and drafting skills.
  • You have the ability to explain complex legal points in clear and concise language both verbally and in writing.
  • You will have great attention to detail as well as a commercial mind-set with the ability to effectively explain legal points and their impact on the business clearly and concisely to stakeholders.
  • You will be able to work with a certain level of autonomy as well as being a strong team player and contributor to those business lines you partner with.
  • You will be inquisitive and have the ability to think outside the box and support the team in finding effective solutions and above all be pragmatic and solutions oriented with a “find a way” attitude.
  • Building and maintaining positive working relationships with key stakeholders acting as trusted advisor across the business.
  • Providing support and guidance to internal stakeholders in identifying and managing legal risks.
  • Have the ability to provide high quality advice on a number of legal issues.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in the law and regulations that may impact the business.
