Job description

Company Description

Wolt is a technology company that makes it incredibly easy to discover and get the best restaurants, grocery stores and other local shops delivered to your home or office. Wolt works together with over 30,000 restaurant and retail partners as well as with over 60,000 courier partners across 23 countries and 129 cities.

Our apps (iOS and Android) have the industry’s highest reviews, largely because of our customer-centric approach to how we build our products and operations. For example, our customer service team responds in a matter of seconds, in the customer’s own language.

We’ve raised more than €707M in financing from renowned U.S. and European based investors, such as ICONIQ Capital, Tiger Global, DST, Prosus, KKR, Coatue, 83North, Goldman Sachs, Highland Europe and EQT Ventures & EQT Growth, among others. We've also been fortunate enough to receive some appreciation and recognition for our hard work along the way: Apple selected Wolt’s app as their Editors' Choice, Wired named the company one of the "Hottest Startups in Europe," Forbes included our CEO Miki Kuusi on its 30-under-30 in Consumer Tech list, and the Nordic Startup Awards named Wolt Company of the Year.

In 2020, the Financial Times named us Europe’s second fastest growing company. We’re still expanding rapidly and are looking for more talented individuals to join us. If you are passionate about cutting-edge technology, great food, and making an impact in your city, then Wolt just might be for you.

Wolt is more than just a food and retail delivery operation – in fact we are built upon a solid foundation of state-of-the-art technology. Our internal tooling enables us to ramp up new cities efficiently and provide excellent customer service, our own logistics platform allows us to optimize our couriers' work to get you the food you want as fast as possible, and our restaurant platform allows restaurants to offer exciting food experiences for our customers in an optimal way.

We work in small teams with high ownership, with each team focusing on a key area of the Wolt product stack. Each and every one of our product team members has a say in where we are going and what solutions we implement. We work with a passion, but we haven't forgotten how to have fun along the way!

Job Description

Are you an experienced Payroll Specialist - Israel, with experience in outsourced international payrolls, and a good eye for overall payroll development? Do you want to be part of building and scaling our payroll operations in a truly global tech organization? If this sounds like you, then we’d love to chat!

We are going through rapid growth in our global payroll team, and we are looking for a Payroll Specialist located in Tel-Aviv, with end-to-end understanding of payroll processes and ideally payroll experience from both in-house and outsourced payroll.

This is a truly unique opportunity to be part of a payroll team in one of the fastest growing companies in Europe, having a chance to really contribute to what modern global payroll looks like, with a goal to provide a world class payroll experience to all of our employees.

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage Israeli payrolls of medium complexity by overseeing the receipt, validation, and completion of payroll-related data activities
  • Deliver a world-class employee payroll experience when delivering payroll services and when customers need help, while also resolving any issues that arise with a root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Work closely with our HR and Finance teams day to day and in all project activities, and ensure that the global design turns into local best practice payroll processes.
  • Supporting our HR team in the hands-on collection, calculation, and entering of payroll data, where not handled within our system integration.
  • Ensure the integrity of payroll data across integrated HR and payroll systems. Develop analytical approaches to scrutinize data, apply critical thinking skills, and gather inputs from peers to make informed decisions for rectifying any discrepancies
  • Own or participate in a moderate number of development projects that impact the payroll function Woltwide and on other payroll or business-lead change activities
  • Act as an SME on payroll transformation activities in Israel, drawing current and future needs of payroll, ensuring that the new designs fulfill all local statutory and legal requirements
  • Support payroll teammates with any side activities with their countries such as data collection, employee queries, or off-cycle payments, and when necessary, back up your teammate to deliver payroll services
  • Create, maintain, and improve payroll process documentation.
  • Take ownership of your development plan and collaborate with your Team Lead to achieve your goals
  • Fulfil any additional tasks as assigned by the Team Lead.

Qualifications
  • You have a strong understanding of core payroll management and processes as well as Payroll certification.
  • You have proven experience in a similar role
  • Experience and passion towards payroll and payroll-related technology and processes.
  • Previous experience in payroll with focus on Israel payroll operations and Workday (or other enterprise HR systems) is considered a strong advantage
  • You are a strong communicator, with high working proficiency in English and Hebrew
  • You enjoy taking ownership and solving problems proactively.
  • You know how to use MS Excel proficiently.
  • You work well in a team and are completely comfortable collaborating remotely and dynamically using digital tools such as Slack and Zoom.
