Responsibilities:

Responsible for overall planning, quality improvement activities, and daily operations of Laboratory Services. Collaborates with others on operational, planning, fiscal, human resources and quality management issues to assure that administrative systems, techniques and procedures are appropriate for services. Maintains twenty-four hour accountability for Laboratory Services.

Qualifications:

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
  2. Applicants must have completed (or be eligible for) an appropriate certification examination.
    • Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)
  3. Must possess four (4) years prior clinical laboratory experience.
  4. Possess three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  5. Possess excellent verbal and written communication, mathematical, and analytical skills.
  6. Demonstrate knowledge of information systems, software applications and telecommunication systems.
  7. Demonstrate the ability to make decisions, solve problems, and promote laboratory services and organization to physicians and general public.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED

 

  1. Master's degree in science.
