Position Summary:
The successful candidate will be a General Claims Adjuster for the Transportation Technical Services Team and will be working remotely in Mississauga, Ontario. They will actively involve in evaluating commercial property claims with a focus on physical damage and cargo claims through loss investigation. and be responsible for negotiating settlements in accordance with provincial licensing requirements, while maintaining adequate production levels and customer relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews and analyzes experts’ reports
- Selects and directs independent experts
- Identifies and pursues subrogation opportunities
- Secures and manages litigation disposition plans and budgets
- Detailed recording of file activities and transactions in both Crawford and Company and client-based systems
- Maintains accurate expense accounts
- Work with manager to maintain client relation
- Ability to liaise and work with all facets of the insurance community including brokers, risk managers, legal counsel and regulators
Requirements:
- 5 or more years of functional and technical claims handling experience in cargo, commercial property and transportation claims
- Ideal candidate must have experience in handling trucking, bus and/or commercial auto claims
- Commercial policy interpretation and experience making recommendations to the market
- Has an active adjuster license or working towards CIP and/or FCIP designation
- Strong report writing skills
- Must be a team player with outstanding customer service skills
- Willingness to work in a dynamic environment with opportunity for career growth
