Paid Time Off:

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director Facilities Management & Construction will oversee ASC / Clinically focused construction projects including their scope of work, schedules, budgets, infection control and quality of renovations for small construction projects. The Director will work with AMSURG Operations leadership, Physicians, and Administrators to define the needs of the facility being renovated or constructed. This role serves as the main point of contact for AMSURG Operations, Facility Staff, Designers, Contractors, and Property Owners over the course of a project. In addition, the Director will manage all emergency projects related to water intrusions, remediation, hurricane, fire, or other related projects.
Work Schedule: This Director Facilities Management & Construction role is offered on a Remote-Centric Hybrid basis with the expectation that you will be required to come to our office in the Green Hills section of Nashville 2 – 3 days per week. Must be willing to travel up to 35% across the country.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obtain approval for, manage, and monitor overall project budgets.
- Work with contractors and designers (when applicable) to review and qualify proposals and estimates to establish accurate preliminary budgets.
- Find and qualify contractors local to the facility where work will be performed.
- Present project budgets, schedules, and status to the physician partners and operations as needed.
- Issue and administer contracts and change orders with contractors
- Manage all emergency related construction projects.
- Communicate with Center Admin, DOO, VPs, SVP, and COO on all potential weather-related threats.
- Oversee project startups including permits, licenses, and contractor mobilization when applicable.
- Coordinate with property owners or landlords in conjunction with projects.
- Facilitate contractor pre-mobilization/startup meetings.
- Evaluate infection control and project safety, and ensure contractors maintain all noted requirements over the course of a project.
- Develop schedules and phasing plans for projects, monitoring their progress.
- Review and approve pay applications for contractors and other vendors.
- Review submittals and coordinate material approvals with facility staff.
- Coordinate with other FMC Subject Matter Experts regarding construction needs (i.e. – power, water) associated with required medical equipment.
- Manage day-to-day construction issues.
- Facilitate collection of tenant improvement allowance funds, when applicable.
- Manage and oversee job close-out documentation and procedures.
- Cross-train with and fill-in for FMC’s HVAC, electrical, life safety, and large construction projects.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Travel to project locations up to 35% is expected.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Engineering, or related field from an accredited four-year College or University.
- 8+ years of related experience.
- Proficient with PC computers and software, i.e., MS Word and Excel.
- Industry certifications and Healthcare construction industry experience is a plus.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information. Must be able to exercise good judgment and positively influence and lead others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency. Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings. Must pass a background check and drug screen.
