Job Description

Position Summary: The Standards Specialist is responsible for implementing and maintaining an effective compliance program for New Hope Network and SupplySide events, publications, and digital portfolio. This includes participating in standards development, establishing compliance strategies and attending events.

Duties Include:

  • Review exhibitor labeling to determine eligibility for events based on ingredient and regulatory requirements
  • Review advertisements and paid content to determine eligibility for publication
  • Verify third-party certifications used by exhibitors
  • Perform compliance audits of exhibitor materials at virtual and in-person trade events
  • Manage workflow efficiently and ensure the smooth operation of departmental responsibilities
  • Stay current with industry development, innovation and regulatory challenges related to food/beverages, dietary supplements, cosmetics, devices, pet products and cleaners
  • Maintain accurate account and compliance records in Salesforce
  • Develop and coordinate projects with event sales, content, operations and customer service teams to consistently enforce compliance with the Standards and Compliance programs
  • Help continuously improve the application and review process, and our integrity programs overall
  • Participate and lead team projects related to ingredient standards, policy, automation, SOPs and other operational and substantive areas as needed
  • Travel, as required, to Natural Products Expo and SupplySide

Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience with the labeling of FDA-regulated products OR 1-3yrs experience in Natural and Organic Product industry
  • Awareness of USDA Organic Standards required
  • Must be able to walk and stand on show floor during events
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Extremely organized with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to exercise good judgment
  • Self-starter, responsible and takes pride in work well done
  • Effective listener and communicator, both written and verbal  
  • Conscientious in record-keeping with an appreciation for data integrity
  • Aptitude and enthusiasm for working with new technology
  • Productive working independently and as part of a team
  • Good interpersonal skills and adapts easily to change
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree
  • Paralegal experience a plus but not required

The salary range for this position $55,000 - $65,000/YR, depending on experience
